Oh yeah, right. Sorry, I get those mixed up because I've never seen an SMS card before, just the carts. In fact, the OP's picture is the first SMS card I've seen, period! I knew it had the card slot, but most people use it for the 3D glasses instead of games.

The 1st time I saw a Master System it was in the Early 90's at Kay-Bees

I got like a Master Gear and 2 Games

Didn't get the System til 95, It is a Model 1

I wished I got the Master System 2 and the 2600 jr there

I don't remember the first time I heard of the Master System, but it wasn't during its lifetime. However I didn't physically see one until 1999 when my town had a short-lived used game shop.

I didn't know about the SMS until around 2002-2003. I used to flip through the gaming mags at the grocery store when I was a kid and Tips & Tricks (RIP) had a section called "Collecter's Closet" where they talked about old stuff. I remember seeing and reading a tidbit about the SMS and thinking it looked cool, knowing nothing about it.

My local game store has a Master System 2 and it looks to be a real NTSC machine. Idk how rare they are, but it's $59.99 and I already have a PBC and don't want an RF only console. It's cool to look at. It's really clean, like it was just taken out of the box.

They started out on SG-1000 ("Sega My Card"), although Hudson's "Bee Card"s for MSX came out that same year.
