Ten years of Sega-16, wow. You've come a long way Ken! Congrats. It's been great being a part of the community here for so long.
And I want to know what the next system you're branching out to is! Game Gear? Saturn? Master System? Would love to see Sega-16 branch out myself, there's not really a site this dedicated with the one-review format to a single system out there. I've reviewed all I really can for the Genesis, but would love to review games for other systems.
In a weird way, I'd like to see the site expand to Game Gear without Master System. All the SMS sites say they cover both but are really 90% focused on the Master System.
Anyway, this site is pretty amazing to last so long.
I would be happy to write and contribute to the site in any way that I can or that would be helpful.Quote:

whats left are mostly sports proto's unreleased japanese or pal only games
and i was unsane enough to pick 10 of them
I haven't had the time to read this whole thread yet but: Regarding the site expanding: I do think that reviews of the 8-bit library would be the best expansion.
After all, Master System games can be played on Genesis, so it's still part of the Genesis' extended library, and would be consistent with the site so far.
We've had reviews for all the Genesis' add-ons except the Master System converter.
Also the 8-bit games overlap with the Genesis' lifetime since they can be played on Genesis. Saturn / Dreamcast reviews would be AFTER the Genesis' lifetime.

Yeah, sadly I will confess to actually owning one of the non-sports NA releases - Battlemaster. Honestly, it's a terrible game but I will take one for the team and sign up to review it.Quote:

Saturn definitely counts as AFTER the Genesis' lifetime, but I guess there was a tiny bit of overlap there too lol.
I guess I'm wondering how Saturn reviews will connect with everything else though? (Will Saturn reviews have the focus of relating to the previous Genesis era?)

Master System is a natural expansion since the Mega Drive is designed with direct retro-compatibility in mind but Game Gear? mmh, it would start to be less consistency but maybe still okay (i don't really like the idea as SEGA-16) BUT others SEGA systems?! You should have to make a new identity for the site then, like SEGA Universe or something like that.
Parallel sites for others SEGA systems like the Saturn & even the Master System would be the best way. Or keep only the MS's addition for the main site & create only on the forum sections for all others SEGA systems.

I'm against including the Saturn on a site called Sega-16 - if it were backwards compatible (like the Genesis is to the Master System) I might feel differently, but since it can't play Genesis games, I wouldn't feel very comfortable having it around.
Then again, I freely admit that I'm biased against the Saturn at any rate ;). I just don't like it very much. Yeah... When I was a child, a Saturn killed my dog. :p
