In Europe's defense that hatred really only started during the Bush Jr. administration.
Before that we were used to you yanks waving the flag and all that stuff, but Bush just.. ugh, turned that dial up too high.
and us Euro folk just aren't all that comfortable with that kinda stuff (see WWII) so we normally just ignored it.
but OMG 9/11 FREEDOM OPERATION DESERT STORM AKA IRAQI FREEDOM MURRICA!!!! kinda lit up a fire underneath us.

I hope that we can all just go back to how it used to be, the Dutch smoking a joint, the french eating ze cheese,
the german eating ze sausage and complaining about ze euro bank, and America waving the flag and shooting
their guns while talking about defending their gun rights.

Nothing wrong with a little patriotism, just.. don't make a mockery out of it like what happened after 9/11

You know there is a shameless urban legend here in Croatia that White House was built with the stone from Croatian island Brač (which is famous for it's white stone deposits) that I even learned in school on Geography class. But of course it's a total fabrication and most people consider it that way although in many tourist souvenir shops on Adriatic coast where they sell stuff made of that stone they still promote that urban legend.

If it makes Europe feel any better most sensible murrican's feel the same way. I remember after 9/11 everybody was riled up to go kick some terrorist ass, and then the government was like: "Let's invade iraq. (again)"

US: "Yeah, lets go kick some Iraq a- wait, WHAT?"

Even today I don't know why we invaded Iraq. Everyone already knew the terrorists were in Iran and Afganistan. The Invasion of Iraq never made any sense. Which is why there are so many sarcastic jokes about us getting our oil back.

Yeah, we hate that dumb fucker, Bush, just as much as anybody.
