Respect to the columns I like the new colour that you choosen. However I was thinking about ride out of the over-illumination in the columns:

As I said is just personal preference. Your version looks very good in any case.

In the end.. each monitor / tv show a very different image from my experience here.
But to work i use my dell ultrasharp with high colors fidelity,
the way I do I adjust my TV the results are quite close to what i see on the console
so I can have a idea of the reality.
These are awesome color hacks you are doing here, Pyron, specially both Golden Axe color hacks and also what you are doing now with Castlevania Bloodlines. I actually liked a lot the old hacks done by RedAngel to the same games and which were left incomplete (only the first stages of both games), so imagine my enthusiast to have the full games properly recolored with such a good taste.
I'll be keeping an eye on this and feedbacking color choices too like the rest. ;)
By the way, another game which has an original arcade reference and screams for better color choices is definitely this one:

Oh! ok. I said it because this last pic look even more blurred than all the other pictures, so is little hard to compare, at least in my monitor.

It's true the Mega Drive version of Double Dragon II is bad (actually it has some good aspects like the music conversion), but it can actually be enjoyable with some fixes. One of them is the slowdown, which goes off in an overclocked system. The other one would be the mediocre graphics and muddy color choices. The graphics still would be mediocre unless you rebuilt the game from scratch to be something like the Mega Drive version of the first Double Dragon, but the colors could actually be closer to the arcade with only some brighter selections. But I understand you won't go into a game you don't like. ;)
There's another game which comes up to mind and which has even muddier/darker color graphics... but that's actually a really bad game by all means so I won't even mention which one it is. :shame:
Hmm... the white columns weren't bad looking in the original, but the buildings in the background definitely look better in the hack. First time I noticed the HUD uses the same colors as elements of the stages.
