This is a update to a hack I did that you incorperated into one of your color hacks. Test it out and see if you want the latest features in your hack. I may revise the hack again tho if someone can find a way to fix scrolling to the left.
Nice pyron!
What do you think of Hellfire? it's a great port (better than the arcade) but it could benefit from more accurate colors.
Thanks man!
Now i'm just testing some 32x titles and i dont know with this below is valid for the community

i like it Pyron, definitely an improvement!
I don't know, the result is quite good but now it's not faithful to the original..

I agree with you but not so much, you cant reach the same tones of the arcades using MD palletes,
both original MD / 32X version is not faithfull to arcade,
if you play mk2 on arcade on 15hz crt monitor it tends more to hot tones than the green ones,
but you are right saying is not faithfull:

Note to pyron, keep a pic of the arcade game nearby when you try to match it's color.
hi my freind, i'm sorry but i really don't understand your point here,
i already explain it here but i goona do again for you, yes.. i take a direct feed in raw mode from the arcade version to reference,
i'm using a good pro ips monitor well calibrated and always i try test it on crt in rgb later (also i take the rgb colour value).
but If you look at it using a TN monitor or laptop, sadly you dont get the real colors there.
And its just a test and like i said is not faithfull enought to original and it never gonna be, because we dont have these colors on md pallete
we must do some changes to increase details. If it for you is fine and already faithfull and perfect, so 'im happy for you my friend.
Pyron a question, you could see the possibility of improving the color palette of twin hawk? It has a large color difference with the arcade and I think it is a great port:

Wonder if Raiden Trad is on Pyron's mind as a possible future project...
Chiki Chiki Boys for the mega drive is more fun and ejoyable than the arcade and deserves some love, later i will post some comparisons.

@vash and @thief i love shooters and they are in my personal list to take a look :ok:
I know that you are already full of requests, but when you have time, could look for Toy Story, he feel so outdated colors against the SNES version.
Nice Pyron, now that game looks even better.
Good tastes guys, those ports are pretty good but could use some better colors, especially Raiden. The hell with the review of this site giving Raiden a 5/10? graphics aren't everything.
Forgive me if this has been covered already, but is there a way to convert the Final Fight CD image to NTSC/U after applying this patch? I couldn't get the sega cd tools out there to work and would like to play this on the hardware.
Thanks, I don't have an Everdrive, but I did manage to find a couple posts on how people used to re-burn games after hacking them with a US header (basically what ConvSCD and the like were based on - NOTE: ConvSCD and other utilities won't convert this image's region, but you can do it manually). So I applied the ips to the Japanese iso, and then used CDMage to extract the first track and replaced the first 16 sectors with the ones the US image has, and presto!
After that, I decided to replace the intro with the English version but noticed the animation was off, so I did some subtractive mixing (and quite a bit of arranging) to have a 'decent' instrumental track and the US vocals without any instrumentation so I can re-arrange them to sync properly, etc. There's a few extra lines in the Japanese intro so I'm trying to decide what audio I could put in a couple of places, and I re-arranged some of the dialogue to be more cohesive and fit the time requirements, etc. I'm thinking of doing a dub for the character bio tracks and possibly re-dubbing the intro (and ending, if necessary).
Awesome hack, btw!
Damn suddenly Twin Cobra has good graphics now lol, well done. Fatal Fury looks nice too.
great game twin cobra!!! and color fix! Toaplan/Taito Corp same as twin hack.
That Fatal Fury color hack looks very interesting, would love to see more!
Now we just need someone to hack the game title screen to Mega Twins

Someone is watching this topic, and finish it before me :D

Someone somewhat is most faster than Pyron...:confuso:
Donald Duck Mahui Mallard could benefit greatly from a color hack, the environments are very dark, and more lighter colors are necessary.
Been playing some Darius 2, and it really is a big improvement.
What about Mcdonalds's Treasure Land Aventure? But instead changing the palette, pretty please, can anyone change the main character for a proper one? For sure the game gains a lot if that change was ever made!
It's not easy to do what Pyron does. A lot of people think it's just about changing some hex values here and there but there's much more than that if you want to make it look real good while preserving the original art; taking lighting, depth perception and color balance into account; and checking how consistent it looks across different video output solutions.
I've tried most of these new, non-Pyron color improvement hacks with high expectations and sadly none of them are really consistent IMO. There are major benefits in some spots but also some major problems and trade offs in many other scenes.
But in the specific case of this game, further hacking would be required. The original palette arrange of the Mega Drive version is very limited and static; lots of bad decisions there.
It's true man, when I did those MK bio/ending conversions it frustrated the fuck outa me how drab everything was.
You want white? fuck you, here's off white.
You want pure yellow? fuck you, here's overcooked yellow.
I realy hope you're doing MK1 next. I'd love to see that with a more accurate palette.
Well Smoke did all the hacking, it was his baby. and I doubt he'd want to do MK1. Probe really did a medicore job.. even hacking wont save that mess.
I keep hoping that someone leaks the MK1 source code someday, I'd love to be a part of a team that wants to make their own version of MK1 on Genesis.
Sorry for the random post, but surely after Midnight Resistance (which you have already done, Pyron!) the next Mega Drive game that needs some serious colour love (e.g. make it the same as the arcade) is Toki! What the hell were the programmers thinking on that one.
If you fancy a trip to PC Engine world, can you sort out The New Zealand Story at the same time, similar issue, piss poor choice of colours for a simple conversion...
