Good article. It's so nice to read something that has been proof read to ensure it makes sense and is well constructed. Rather lkie all my psots.. I'm still wondering however: “WTF is DMA?”
Nice line that!

Like I said before, excellent job to all involved and the trekkies article is a good read. Is the comparison video in the trekkies artcle using the sf2sce version 7 rom audio ? I think adding this video under the pyron hack picture might be a good idea https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZOrpJP7DUw . Also, one of the links on that site the article appears on doesn't work http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2133/%20
Is the reason the video I posted above has video out from the 32 x is because that is just how stef's model 1 setup is (like mine genesis video out to 32 x in to 32 x out video to tv, genesis stereo audio out to sega cd 1/8 line in to sega cd rca out to stereo) or is because the 32 x composite is better than genesis composite or is that just as pass through ? (genesis video just passes through into 32 x)
Well the one video I used is actually Stef's video, so I figured that would be ok. With how sheath has been lately I'm not sure how he'd react to my linking one of his video's in an article I wrote. I agree it's a great video to use, but I'm just not sure how that would go over.
I was thinking of using Pyron's one video but my concern with that is for some reason the voices don't sound as clean as they do in Stef's video.
And I fixed the link to Stef's patch.
Anything showing stef works to the masses is good.
But I think that video is from an earlier release, with obvious missing samples. Also, on real HW improvement looks much greater, isn't it?
A fix on the sample voices of Contra Hardcorps would be awesome!!
Did anyone have a link to Pyron & Stefs Combo Hack?
I don't knnow if I have it or not
Nice
One of these days I'd like to do a tiny patch to replace some of the instruments used in SF2CE for MD. Maybe a third integrated patch can be done...
I love the 2 Hacks Color and the Audio
Have anyone asked you for the rights to put it on Cart yet?
Dude, Why do you always comment on me for?
I mean the Hacks, Like having Sonic Hacks on Cart to play on the Genesis
Cause you always ask such interesting questions! http://images.wikia.com/glee/images/...233430!Hug.gif
Then you should not have mentioned rights, while Stef and Pyron are the authors and owners of their respective hacks
they are not owners of the SF2 game rom, so using the word "rights" is wrong in this case. you can't make illegal duplicates
of Capcom games and then only worry about the hacker's rights. :D
You should have said "has any repro maker contacted you'z guys about making some illegal repro's? cause I'd buy one!"
I really don't get the hate for the Genesis SF games. Both ports were pretty awesome and replicated the goodness of the arcade very well. They looked great, sounded great, played great, etc. Especially the Genesis's more "proper" resolution size over the SNES version.
Seriously, is it really just the voice samples you guys are so hung up on? I realize they weren't the best the system had to offer but, they weren't terrible either.
Imagine if Probe had done the ports instead. Then we wouldn't have had ANY voice clips lol. Give Capcom some props.
I agree. Back in the days, when the game was announced but no pictures except than the beta were available, I remember having feared a lot that the MD version would be so much weaker than the SNES.
I was all the more happy to see that it ended to be graphically very close to the SNES (Unfortunately, I think MD resolution is the same than SNES for this game).
And it was before I could play it, with the amazing 6-buttons pad. The music were actuallt better than SNES', and so were sound effects. Only voices were crap.
Still today, it's my favourite SF game, with Street Fighter Zero 3 PSX.
