Interesting Kickstarter that is officially Sega sanctioned

Okay, I know I need to review the rules of the forum since it's been a while since I was last on here, but I felt I needed to share a fairly cool shot at a cool Genesis inspired line of toys on Kickstarter. I was blown away that Sega is actually involved in these and they are official. At anyrate, if I've violated any of the standards/rules, I apologize, it's just that it only had 72 hours to go before it was over and I wanted to share it with you all. - Mario

With 64 hours left, this project is going to fail badly. In my opinion those figures are uncool, uninspiring, and hideous with a capital "H"! Who thought this was a good idea in the first place?

Hey SEGA contact me! I'm a noob but I could come up with a better sculpt than the offered in this Kickstarter! :p

Eh, Sega will put their name on just about anything these days. Like crappy clone consoles.

It's not the first Kickstarter they've gotten behind either.

I was hoping for full-on action figures of classic characters, rather than urban vinyls. They're okay, however.

The guy made some NES ones first with a successful Kickstarter. The NES ones look slightly better and seem to have more "character". The Genesis ones look uninspired, however.

Sega's. They had approached the artist two years ago at SDCC to try and push these into production, based on the previous line that was NES cart inspired.

The first part, yeah I know, over the years that's become more apparent. :)

I didn't know that they'd gotten behind other kickstarters though.

I think part of the problem is Genesis cartridges really aren't that interesting looking. There's not a whole lot you can do with them. I would have preferred actual characters as well but I get that's a lot more expensive to produce. At $35 I'd rather put googly eyes on the real games.

Sega stuff doesn't get the same amount of attention as Nintendo either, sadly. I don't necessarily want one of these things but it would have been alright to see them get made. I do think the mini 10-Dohs were a nicer sculpt too.
