I was going to post this in the random thread, but then I was like "screw it this deserves it's on thread". It's not a remake but a sequel. It's also directed by George Miller (google him), who is shunning CGI and focusing on awesome car action. He's calling it a "western on wheels". I'm so stoked. I can't fucking wait
And in case you didn't realize it, I'm a long time fan of these movies.
I liked the Mad Mel movies. I'll watch the new one but I'll have difficulty seeing Max as anybody but Mel.
The third one was weird though.
If its a sequel then why is max's interceptor getting destroyed in it when it was destroyed in two ?
I am with you in that I can't wait for this to be released.
This movie is gonna make me break my two year streak of not going to theaters. All other movies cower before the might of MadMax.
As always I'll hope for the best but expect the worst.

Nah ... the worst thing that could have happened was if Hollywood decided to remake the Mad Max firms. I freaking can't stand remakes! I see no point in remaking a film if the original work was a masterpiece in the first place. Very rarely if ever has a remake surpassed the quality of the original firm and I refuse to watch remakes.Quote:

I don't mind remakes when they actually serve a purpose. Tons of old movies were made and were too ambitious for what the effects could do at the time. And some remakes actually wind up being pretty good even when not done with that.Quote:

Now, if they make it as just a quick cash grab on a known IP? Well, that's where things fall down badly and the reason so many dislike remakes. Those kind tend to stand out and get remembered because they tend to be not only horrible movies, but pretty insulting to the original.
im willing to take a guess that the action sceens are going to be amazing ~ but the movie will suck overall.

Remakes are most often an attempt by Hollywood to make a new star for the current generation. They believe no one knows who the oldsters are, so they need someone the current gen knows. Look for a remake coming soon starring Justin Bieber! ;) :lol:
If anything this remake/sequelthingy will bring the spotlight back on Mad Max, which means I'll finally be able to buy a diecast
1:18 Interceptor model. because you wouldn't believe how expensive a 1:18 Interceptor model is now, so a new Mad Max movie
will mean that another company might just release new models, which are always cheaper then getting one from the early 90's.
Maybe Mel Gibson himself can whittle you one in his workshop if you ask nicely

Either way it will be better than Mad Max 3 so.
Just watched the trailer again, and this time I noticed that its the Interceptor that gets crashed right at the beginning of it.
What do these movie makers have against the most awesome car ever made? why do they keep crashing it?!!!
This better not mean that we'll get an entire movie without Max driving around in the Interceptor.
If Tina Turner shows up, you know there's trouble.
But neo vamp what about the guy with the artificial arm and skull mask? Maybe he could be Humungus's brother. And Thunderdome may have been the worst hollywoodification of a series ever, but Tina Turner riding around on a rocket powered go kart was still pretty awesome.Quote:

Even though the screenwriting beats will probably work out similar to what you predict (because it's so easy to), I still have expectations that it'll be more exciting, and entertaining, than the action movies I've come to expect. This could be a breath of fresh air, and I truly hope it is.
