Thats' not an nerd/geek exclusive thing, just saying. Lots of different kinds of arseholes out there.

That is true, but what i'm saying is..
If most nerds/geeks could resist the urge to assume everyone is a stupid airhead because their IQ doesn't top 170 or they don't know C++, and bothered to take the time to develop some social skills, they might get on a bit better. I play a lot of games (..duh?) and I have 'geeky' friends who are a bit like this, and I can understand sometimes why they struggle socially.
I mean I don't really care that some neckbeards think i'm a faggot or whatever, but i'd say this is half the reason geeks get outcasted, they can be pretentious as all buggery.
this is REALLY going to annoy you, but in a geek way, nerds are clever ones like A level kids and people like me geeks so I was told in school, looks like a nerd ie glasses, ugly, unfashionable
I had a friend and his friend is now semi famous who was exactly as you describe, he used to look down on me because he thought I was thick, but I would say he oddly was social able but just a up himself person, my own friend was the same, he was startrek nerd, thought because he knew something that was nothing ie knowledge he was clever, but its not knowledge its how you use it that makes you clever
I don't get it. What's appealing about ugly glasses and drab clothing? And how do vinyl records and old video games factor in?
I suppose it's the modern equivalent of these from the hot rod days. People used them just because they looked cool and were old and unwanted.

What about Dweebs? How do they factor in here? By the way, my wife refers to nerds as 'Spods' which I quite like.
Just being light hearted. Following discussion with my wife in the meantime, we feel Dweeb has a 'wet' connotation. Like a wimpy nerd.
