Mutant League Football Cards

I am curious, the original Mutant League Football came with two random cards included with all the other inserts, posters/ play-card/ etc. I also saw that there were a couple Gamepro magazines that contained Mutant League Football cards inside the issue. My question is are they the same cards and do they make a set that can only be completed by having all the Gamepro magazines and being able to find all the various cards that could have come with the Mutant League Football Genesis game? I know there were only two Gamepro issues with cards in 1993, but I wanted to know if the random cards that came with the game are the same design and the total number of possible cards that could have come with the Mutant League Football genesis game. thanks for any and all replies.

This was an interesting question. I own a copy of the two aforementioned Gamepro magazine issues that contained the Mutant League Football cards. And yes they are the same design as the 2 random cards that came with the game.

Heh, kind of reminds me of Fire Pro Wrestling D. Everyone(or at least everyone that imported it) got the same card, and if it belonged to some sort of card game, or something, there weren't likely to be many cards that it had any advantage over...

By the way, the following year (1994), the NFL and Coca-Cola released a series of thirty cards called "Monsters of the Gridiron". These were cards of real NFL players dressed in Halloween-themed football costumes. Each player was given a monster-nickname, too. They are not related to "Mutant League", though.

I was hoping at the time that these would be turned into a videogame. They had some great ideas for characters.

Screw cereal prizes, I want soft-drink inserts back!

I have a sheet of cards from a Gamepro magazine in mintastic condition, somewhere in the basement of broken dreams and ew gross a dirty Power Pad. If I lay eyes on it, or bother to fish through my boxes of random crap, I'll maaaaybe scan it in stupid high resolution. Still, motivation and me have a legal order keeping us no fewer than ten miles apart at all times.

Now why didn't I think of that? That's a great idea. I don't have a scanner, though.

I didn't see any great scans of the Mutant League set online but there are a lot of scanned Monsters of the Gridiron cards online.
