It's really not hard to picture what the guys who make these attacks are like in real "life". They hate what they can't have.
Nerds ruin everything. Comics, anime, video games, TV shows, movies. Just look at #GamerGate. Nerd culture ruins everything for everybody. It's awful.

Meh, so-called feminists are pros at taking any situation and making it about gender and victimization - Women might have to pay more for health insurance because they generally cost more? Discrimination! Fix that ASAP and have men supplement their cost. What's that? Men have to pay more for auto insurance because they generally cost more? No comment.
Trolls exist everywhere, they attack everyone on the Internet who puts their real name and face out there. Something like this happens, and all of a sudden it's "all gamers" and their so called problem with women. It's not just typical shitty comments coming from anonymous Youtube users, it's much more than that for some reason. It's so much more, lets write a condescending article about the problem with men who play games and why they are either all jerks or jerk-enablers.
I think there's just a problem with people, anonymity, immaturity, the Internet, etc.
Also, I stopped giving a shit about what gaming journalists think a long time ago.
Yes, feminism these days is all about favouritism and a really twisted form of communism, not equality.
But what I just said is just as massive of a generalisation as this whole crap about gamers. Really vocal bad apples spoiling the bunch.
I'm not sure how big a percentage of feminists are bad apples though, seems to be a dangerously large amount (specially in positions of "power" regarding the movement).
^Maybe in positions of power, but that's how it is for everything. I doubt most people affiliated with their political party are as vocal and extreme as the some of them can be. I'm looking at you, tea partyers. Power corrupts, yes, but also those who are most likely to seek power are those who are most likely to have extreme views.
