Gunstar Heros? I can understand it's not rock hard like Alien Soldier but over rated?Quote:

Its not terrible by any means but like Vehemont said it wont rock your ass unless youve been playing Dark Castle for the past 15 years.Quote:

Toejam and Earl was pretty fun, but it got boring after a while, and it seemed like you would play it cause you just wanted to see what happened when you finally found all the ship parts. Alien soldier, as cool as it is, was just funny looking to me. the slowdown was kinda wonky and to be honest the main character just looked funny running around. If i have to pick run and guns that i like more i would have to pick gunstar, rolling thunder 2, and contra.
Also, what is up with golden axe?! i was thinking that guy was freaking crazy when he mentioned it, but yeah, that game didn't age nearly as well as streets of rage did.
Then to boot i played the arcade version like 2 days ago at this awesome theater by my house and was in love all over again. If only the down strike wasn't so freaking broken!
Yes, Golden Axe has not aged very well at all but it is still fun.
All those I can think of have been mentioned.
Gunstar Heroes-it seems pretty cool but I never could get into it.
Comix Zone-my opinion hasn't really changed since it came out-it's alright, but that's it. Don't really get what the hype is about.
Toejam & Earl... I think it deserves praise for what it was at the time. I loved it personally, even if now it's kinda boring.
Earthworm Jim-Who the hell still talks about Earthworm Jim? It was hyped the hell up back then, but fuck Earthworm Jim.
As far as the Mortal Kombat games go, I liked them for the same reason everyone my age did-it was violent when games rarely were, and it had some atmosphere to it. They do suck though. The first movie though? A classic.
Yeah out of all these games I still think that Toejam and Earl takes the cake. I don't really think either of those games were epic. Just pretty good and terribly overrated.
And I was never into Mortal Kombat as a game. I always thought it sucked. It never could stand up to StreetFighter or and SNK game sof its time. What MK had that was attractive to me was competition, and unfortunately it had more than SF at some arcades which made me play it more. But I always kept my chops up at SF. I played MK for shit and giggles but I legitimately love Capcom and SNK fighters.
If only SNK fighting games got more love in the states. There really is too many good ones on that arcade hardware. The Genesis should have gotten more ports.
Oh man I am doing a feature on this.
I would say the first Sonic game. Its a nice platformer, but hey, it is not that great. Everybody always tells me the 3D sonics suck and 2D sonics were the bomb, I think they are both nice, but not incredible.
Yeah I have to disagree there. Sonic the Hedgehog was awesome as hell when it came out, and it still holds up today. I think that a lot of people just kinda go through that game as a platformer but it is fun to play for time trials too. I just wish Sega had added a time trials mode. That game was just good. It was good looking, great sounding and was innovative for its time.
I remember playing Sonic 1 at my local game store (Software Etc) back in 1991 when it was first released and I was blown away. And I agree-- it's held up well. I own Sonic Mega Collection and Sonic Gems Collection for my GCN and I still play just about all of them every now and then.Quote:
