This is the first time I've ever camped out for a release.
I stayed up all night, then finally at 7:10 AM, I refreshed the Xbox Live website to find it listed. Keep in mind I also refreshed the website at 7:05 AM, 6:55 AM...
Mind blown. You thought Rockstar were gonna be a bunch of cheap asses on this re-release, no they did alot more than just boost the resolution and draw distance. The whole game is remade flawlessly.
Are you serious, no one posted in this thread since I last checked on it 11 hours ago? are you guys living under a rock? San Andreas HD remake for $4 available now!!!
I bought the original xbox version for $4 at goodwill a few months back, i'm not sure if I will get the re-release or not.
Are you sure about Steam and consoles (as in more than one system)? All I'm seeing is an Xbox 360 version. I really wish the PC version would get updated to add gamepad support.
Did anyone get it yet? I already have it on Steam. Are the graphics really overhauled like The Master Chief Collection?
I have it on Android for my OPO I need to play it sometime.
i thought the remake looked like GTA4

i prefer the PC one still since i can swap out to real cars, pretty much every car ever made in real life has been made for san andreas
Vice City is still my favorite, but the price makes this too good to pass up.
Vice City > San Andreas
The only GTA I bothered to finish was GTA5, yea the writing was atrocious in places and the whole game reeked of sociopathic apathy, but the unsubtle satire of modern society and the action kept it from getting too stale. The other GTA's, yes even including Vice City, got boring several hours into them. Couldn't be helped that the gameplay mechanics were also trashy.
I can do the same thing with the Original Xbox version since my Xbox is softmodded :p. I have real cars along with real restaurants like KFC, Taco Bell, etc. lol. I didn't like the original PC version since you couldn't set the controls on a PC controller exactly like they are on the console version, forcing you to still use the mouse and/or keyboard at times during the game.
I didn't know they had those mods on Xbox. That sounds rad.
I can't believe people still remember that Vice City existed, when San Andreas is around.
Totally, Miami Vice beats Boyz n the Hood any time of the day.
I was flying Airwolf around on my Xbox at one point, shit was so ca$h.
I never liked San Andreas all that much, the whole "In da hoodz" setting just wasn't my style.
I liked how there was much more freedom though, but the gangsta setting just wasn't and still isn't my thing.
I remember the first time I played Vice City, and I was like "omg I'm finally back in the 80's!" I was so happy.
(I guess we all eventually miss the days of when we were under 10)
See thats the problem with GTA V, it has no personality.
It isn't about the Mafia in New England
It isn't about a... uh, Miami City setting(haven't played Vice City since 2005)
It isn't about black gangs in Los Angeles
It just has no personality or charm. I haven't even touched story mode since March.
I love GTA V but fuck Michael, fuck him and his family.
Part of the problem the way I see it, people not only empathise but sympathise with the thugs of GTA games. A thug's a thug, be it a hedge fund manager or a lowly gangster, but GTA has no class altogether. Sort of when the intent behind Scarface was to dispel the enchantment with the sociopathic gangster, only for it to end up reinforcing and even glorifying such an image.
