around $43shipped. very reasonable indeed, when all others on the BAY at present are at least nearly $100+shipping, and most well over that, even...

I don't get it.
The fact that the guy likes to collect dolls or whatever is considered weird, but people showing and bragging about their over-expensive video games, like they're some sort of trophy it's okay?
-
Eh, live and let live. I'm sure some of the people who've made comments about Tasuke over the years have muuuuuch worse skeletons in their closet than they'd like us to know.

Dorks try to 1-up eachother. The other day I had a guy with a fetish for wall plaster try to say video games are for 6 years olds, as if it somehow invalidated my politics.
Men should freely just post their doll collections.

They're talking about video games on a video gaming forum.
Talking about dolls on a doll forum is common.
When you talk about items a forum isn't dedicated to, people may not always share your same passion and discussions will arise. During those discussions you may discover a vocal group (size may vary) will politely ask you to talk about something else. If you ignore the wishes of the vocal group you start to alienate yourself from the group and they become more vocal. You can either talk about what that forum is dedicated to or you can insist the others respect your non-topic views. They are too selfish to respect the vocal members viewpoint so the vocal members don't respect his non-topic viewpoint.
The old "know your audience" rule to a happy life!
EDIT: Tasuke has lots of cool pieces btw. I'd personally rather see pics of those but Tasuke does as he pleases:(
-
This is the off-topic section, though? He never posted it in the video game sections. Collecting figurines is quite common and this is a retro video game site, so of course people here have collections that expand beyond video game carts for Mega Drive. I see nothing abnormal about his dolls.
-
There's nothing wrong with men with dolls,
Nino-Zero VHS video game collecting though,
well that's just as retarted as joining a forum
dedicated to pee-o zero arcade games.;)

Here's the extent of my figure collection. Most of these I had as a kid so they hold a sentimental value. We're all weird in our own way so as I said before...to each his own.

I guess I'm just curious as to why. Is the character from an anime you're fond of, or is this the last piece of a set you've been collecting, or what?

Not to hijack the thread but my choice...

See discussion is causing another "vocal group" as I worded it, to speak up. As long as name calling is avoided and discussing continues, explaining one's viewpoint pro or con, all is good.

Never had many dolls, always been more of a lego fan.

Hey JibaJabba's come back solely to troll after he complained and left here in a huff!
Also, free speech goes both ways. If you want to talk and post pictures about weirdly specific and detailed anime dolls okay, but when people talk about how weird it is that you're into that stuff...well you can't really complain about it.

It's not even that Baloo, The fact he felt inclinded to post these threads across multiple forums is what's disturbing. It's like a giant grab for attention whoring...
It's creepy as hell. Yeah you've got a doll and you feel attached to it more then a real person. Whatever but gawd show some reserve about telling the whole internet about your creepyness. He got locked away in the garbage dump of the forums on NG.com mainly because he spammed up 3 sections of the main forums with images of old VCRs so much that the mods finally stepped in and did something about it.
If he came to TNL with that mess, I'd ban him in a heartbeat also. :|
-
You guys really just dont know when enough is enough do you?
I care less about this doll and vcr business than just about anybody,
and I still think they are more interesting than the collective whole of the two sites you are mentioning.
Nobody here cares what the OP did in other forums unless it was illegal,
so either get over yourselves or shut up about it.
This is Sega-16, not some totalitarian circle-jerk site where the mods add to the mayhem.
I have a few DBZ PVC figurines, not that I collect, but they are prized.

Your argument doesn't hold up. Everyone wants to be a supporter of free speech, UNTIL you have to read or listen to someone or something you don't agree with. That's why everyone whines on internet forums, because unlike real life, where if you don't like someone's coversation or think that they're weird, or really don't want to talk about something, it's easy to walk away. But on an internet forum, you have to read it because you have to read everything and wade through the shitposters (Like those who invaded this thread) to actually read the conversation.
Let's say you're sitting with a group of 10 people in real life at an organized club gathering for video games, and you're trying to have a conversation with all of them at once. Four people are talking about the topic on-hand, three are shouting obscenities and nonsense because they think it's funny, and another three are talking about a totally different subject than what's on-hand. And of the four people actually talking on topic, one is calling another one an idiot because he disagrees with his opinion. And then the group leader comes in and tries to right the conversation, and the other three people who are having a good conversation get annoyed that it stopped and complain. And unlike real conversation where if ten people are talking at once you can't all understand them, you can fully understand all ten people and HAVE TO hear them simultaneously. You cannot move out of the room to silence people altogether, just around the room and try to ignore them...until they start moving closer to you and you have to hear their conversation while you try to make yours.
That is what having a conversation on an internet forum is like.
Now do you see what I mean?
-
Some of you obviously haven't been around the internet long enough if you think this is creepy.
I've seen things you wouldn't believe, including the recent 4chan thread made by a guy who strangled his wife to death and took naked pictures of her for the will to die from gun fire by the cops.

Look Baloo, I know you have a job as a mod and I respect that but come on man. Free speech is one thing. Spamming is another. Call it shitposting all you want but this guy has a history that really creeps the hell out of people.

That's kind of a broad statement Baloo but in general there have been situations just like you've described. Hell there was one guy who was @ videogame gathering who literally got banned for life from their groups because he threw a shitfit over someone bringing Dreamcast CDRs. lol

I think everyone knows this but even so there's always a line you should draw on just how some people act on forums. Look Melf knows me well enough that I don't really go out looking to troll people. It's just when people like this spam weird crap like this on a forum that yes I'll agree is in an offtopic section there's a point you gotta go. "Ok this is reaching a little too far into wtf territory."

I see what you mean but I don't fully agree with it. :|
@Thunderblaze,
Oh I've seen some stuff that makes me want to wash my eyes out with bleach. The internet has sadly givin people with way too much freetime and thought to share their "passions" with the rest of the world.
Anyways Baloo, I'm not trying to be an ass nor disrespect your position.
-
I completely agree here with BonusKun, the collective modding staff here at Sega-16 can be too lenient at times, lines must be drawn. If most (if not all) of the civil and rule abiding users who have been here for years all dislike a particular user for his clearly disgusting and disturbing posts, why can't action be taken? If you want, send him a few warnings to cut it out and stop creeping everyone out. But if he doesn't abide, that means a ban is in order. That's usually how it's supposed to work.
-
The thing about this is that he has been simply sharing his personal doll collection. It doesn't justify for any real warnings, let alone getting banned for it. The guy hasn't harassed anyone on the message boards or broken any rules of site. This is honestly the type of stuff you just ignore and move one from. There's no real reason to kick the guy out for being different.

If you didn't want to partake in this thread about a 'creepy doll fetish' then why did you open the thread in the first place.
Although if you guys can provide me (and everyone else) with some entertaining reading with a few of these so called digusting and downright creepy posts/threads, please link them.

Gee, I don't know, maybe because this thread is constantly being bumped to the top of Off-Topic and is usually visible from the forum index. That makes it difficult to ignore.
