Gamers have a poor opinion of the console because back in the day some of the biggest games to be released on the console possessed poor audio and voice samples. I can't really blame people for not being aware of the SEGA Genesis'/Mega Drive's audio capabilities. It's only after you being to explore the console's library that you discover how great the sould quality can sound on the SEGA Genesis.
..and they mostly had the genesis model 2 if they had a genesis at all..
..i blame them for not knowing for over a decade at least on the internet it was always suggested or noted people should use a hi def model 1 with stereo cable out the front into a home stereo..hell people were smart enough to do this..in..get ready..1989..Quote:

But the fact is, those games still have very bad sounds (voices), for example, Thunder Force IV, as great as a game is, the voices are a farcry from other aspects from the game. And that's is a pity. Or Street Fighter II (that was excelent fixed by the excelent comunity)
..well i had revenge of shinobi, sonic, altered beast, nba 1995, nhl 1994, sor, sor2, vectorman, dynamite heady, comix zone and others and the sound quality, sound fx and soundtrack sounded great out of my model 1 front into a tv or stereo..
..ok those are just 2 games..and 1 has just been fixed..yes some games had lazy programmers or just compressed the crap out of the audio to fit in a cart, but not all or maybe not "most" of the games..i guess if you had zelda on a snes and had thunderforce 4 on a model 2 genesis you could make a conclusion based off your expierence, but i had both a model 1 genesis hooked up correctly and a snes, and i thought both sounded good, then again i had my experience with the games i listed above, other peoples experiences are different..however with whatever experience the information is on the web now and a decade or more ago..Quote:

Of course are games that sounds great, usually megadrive uniques games (but then, you have Story of Thor :( ). But when people try to compare, usually point a game that were ported for different platform. Alien 3 voices for Amiga sounds amazing, but megadrive voices are bad. They are lot of example of this. Of course, this seems not a really fault of system, but how game was done, because different reasons. And Megadrive V2 didnt help either, nor to mention the emulators. Anyway, all this comments are offtopic, please, go ahead with this amazing Mode 7 demo....
Played latest build on Mega Everdrive and man.... runs and looks SO great!
I agree to some extent.
Anyways, I decided to look up the list of pack in games were bundled with the console:
Aladdin, Altered Beast, Mega Games I, Mega Games 2, Mega Games 6, Mega Games 6 Vol. 2, Mega 6 Vol. 3, NFL Football '94 Starring Joe Montana, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Compilation, Sonic Spinball, Streets of Rage, Streets of Rage 2, The Lion King, Vectorman.
I still can't believe that there were that many pack in games. The ones in red are the only ones I was aware of until recently (5 to 7 years). BITD I was cluekess that SoR and SoR2 was once bundled with the console. And NFL Football '94 Starring Joe Montana too? What does the packaging even look like? It makes sense considering the popularity of the sport in North America but I don't remember ever seeing the bundle sold in stores here.
..first 21 pictures answer your question my friend.. https://www.google.com/search?q=gene...+sports+bundle
..or just here hehe.. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...rtsEdition.jpg
Thanks! Now I remember seeing it in stores! Probably in my local K-mart! :p The green turf jogged my memory!
Speaking of sample quality, I'm pretty sure Dynamite Headdy has the highest quality voices of any Genesis game, or even any SNES game too.

There's more than that list says:

Yep! After you mentioned the Mortal Kombat 3 bundle, I was reminded that SEGA released a Street Fighter 2 bundle (PAL territory exclusive?) as well. Check this link to see some of the other bundles that someone posted on another forum: http://www.retro1.no/forum/index.php...cents-samling/
Jurrasic Park, Virtua Racing, Power Rangers The Movie ...
