I'm generally an RPG fan, but if the gameplay & related (looting, leveling up/progression, inventory, UI, sense of exploration, etc) is total balls, chances are I'm not going to be playing said RPG for long. I can't just play games for it's writing & graphics. If you can, that's great, it's why I listed TW3 on my Steam 2017 sale thread for others that do.

You're still quoting Jackal on the first Witcher to justify your disdain for part 3? He was talking about part 1. The gameplay and graphics have vastly improved since then.

And while I'm not talking about graphics, how to do you know Witcher game play improved with sequels? TW1 is PC exclusive (pretty sure you're mostly, if not strictly, a console player), and last I heard you were looking forward to finally playing part 2 (and I haven't seen you write anything about playing or beating part 2 yet).

Also, at least thanks for justifying that this developer really didn't know how to make games, even if you say just pre-TW3. And even if it's just based off assumption.

I have the Witcher: Enhanced Edition on PC. It is a totally different gaming experience than TW3.

It's like saying that Crysis 3 isn't any good, based on having too many suit functions in Crysis 1.

Yeah Thief, I'm not sure why you are quoting me for - I was referring to the first Witcher game, which is the only one I've played.

^ CD Projekt "Had no clue how to make a game." And while I'd argue they still don't going by TW3, this headline covers all Witcher games.



PS - The Jackal, you gonna try TW3 soon? Or giving up entirely on this series?

We didn't forget it. We just thought that it was a stupid point. It's like saying Donkey Kong is not a good game, because Miyamoto never made a game before.

Miyamoto was new, I don't think everyone else was. And lets not forget Miyamoto learned a lot from Gunpei Yokoi over the course of his career. Still, gaming is more team effort then you all think. ie. can you imagine SMB1 for NES without Mario having that inertia in his movement? The team tried to replicate this from seeing it in another Nintendo game, but in the end they had to get that programmer to tell them how it was done - that programmer was Satoru Iwata.

I think youre (thief) grasping at straws to justify the witcher hate. What sucks about it??

I didnt like farcry 1 but farcry 3 was badass. That doesnt make the farcry series suck. I Havent played a witcher game but i got part 1 for free and might try it out.

I already talked about TW3 flaws, though it was across more then one thread, so yeah.

Don't forget to share your thoughts on Witcher 1 when you get around to it.

I've yet to still buy and play Horizon Zero Dawn, nor do I have any memory of saying anything negative about it. Actually recall saying something positive about it, the fact it has aiming and shooting mechanics has me interested.
