Psx version. How do I recharge afterburners can't even beat first mission

Afterburner fuel is limited. Once you're out, you're out. In combat use it in quick bursts or to get away from missile locks.

Can't really figure out how you're running out of fuel in the first mission unless you're using it to get to your nav points instead of autopilot.

I'd recommend picking the game up on GOG.com for a couple bucks honestly. The PSX controls are rough (as are the graphics). It does have some extra videos that the PC version doesn't though.

oh I did not know I had to use auto pilot I am wasting it on now have points so how should I use the auto pilot?

I don't know the controls off hand, you'll have to look in the manual or look it up online if you don't have the manual. You use auto pilot between nav points when there aren't any enemies around. It will instantly take you to the next objective.

Autopilot is L1+L2+R1+R2. Check out this page at the Wing Commander CIC, if you scroll down you'll find all the controls for the PSX version.

thanks guys, I wish i could play the PC version but I dont wanna mess around with DoSbox to get a CD game going. Dosbox is intimidating, i can never get it

You could get the GOG version. It comes with dosbox pre-configured.

Thanks, will it allow me to use my joystick to play the PC version? either way it does not matter I'll just get a wireless mouse and a wireless keyboard
