This is a pretty good and accurate video actually. Mainly because they focus purely on the business side of things and do a good job at that, rather than comparing specs and libraries which typically results in misinformation, numbers being taken out of context, and inherent biases/subjective opinions being presented as facts.
The only thing I would have added to this was Sega pulling the plug on the Genesis early. It was nice to see a console war video that didn't harp on the libraries or the peripherals and stuck to the numbers.
totally agree dudes..and like I said it is nice they said 40 mil instead of that old 29 mil sold number..this video was good and actually better than the recent bbc news documentary video on subject.
I, would also like to appreciate how they said 40 mil instead of 29 mil.
Here is yet another, much shittier video more on par with all the other videos with obvious bias, and misinformation all around.

Skip to about 2:14 in this one to skip to the start of it.
cool dudes..when is the Console Wars movie still scheduled to release..in the fall of 2015? is it fair to say the 40 million genesis + 6 million sega cd http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthr...of-the-Sega-CD http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost...9&postcount=15 or I guess now revised just 3 million + 1 million 32 X units basically tied the SNES?
i know i will be a thought criminal dudes..but in the video it showed the snes guy saying he is watching mario run as fast or faster as sonic to game theory guy..irony if it was a snes game but it was the nes super mario bros..not snes mario and sonic actually has hills more jumps loops an alternate paths than super mario bros..and during that 4:40 mark in my video link sonic was still faster hehe..

They also said Genesis is backwards compatible with the megadrive. They clearly didn't do too much fact checking. I'm assuming they meant to say master system.
They also claimed that Genesis had the first wireless controllers... Didn't Atari 2600 have them earlier?
It was a typical shitty SNES vs. Genesis video with loads of misinformation, misleading facts, and specs thrown around out of context.
Because these videos only have people who grew on SNES. And thats not proper.
They need Gamester81, CGR, Adam Koralik, etc. someone who grew up on Genesis and is knowledgeable about it.
To state common facts like:
-the Genesis is 2 full years older
-Nintendo still had illegal monopoly in the Genesis lifespan. Yes not just with the Master System
-40 million vs. 49.1 million. Why such a big sales difference? because the Genesis failed in Japan. Nothing more
I would try contributing to one of these SNES vs Genesis videos if I was capable of proper speech. I don't have a speech disorder, it just takes a lot more physical effort for me to speak loud, than it does for the average person.
Crazy idea time! What if we did our own Genesis vs. SNES debate?
All of us on SEGA-16 and everyone on Nintendo Age grab some mics or webcams, open a chat room, and debate the consoles. We could edit the best parts into a youtube video.
Surely it wouldn't just turn into angry arguing within minutes. Surely.
That was pretty awful. Even some of the pro-Genesis information is inaccurate.
The games debate is also so ridiculous and so pointless. It's always going to come down to personal taste. I love both consoles, I really do, but I have about 50 SNES games compared to over 200 Genesis games so to say the Genesis had nothing but Sonic always makes me firmly plant my head in my hands.
Also there were things like the Atari 2600 GameLine and Intellivision PlayCable. Neither service was very successful but they were precursors to the Sega Channel. Even the SNES had the Satellaview in Japan and the freaking Famicom even had a modem (even if it didn't do much).
That's all I really have to say. We don't need another one of these threads. We've got a countless number of them already.
I would really like Game Sack to do one. It really fits the whole Genesis fan/SNES fan nature of the show, and they both aren't completely uneducated, so you know you'll get proper information. Plus, people here at Sega-16 can really help in the information department if need be, especially with many people on here who program for those consoles, and the others who have a general understanding of what the consoles can do and such too.
