I wonder if this game is finished. I know there are several sonic RPGs that were made by fans but I do not know if any of them are any good. I do know that there is a decent DBZ RPG by the fans as well as several others by the super Dante RPG Maker program. I found a pretty awesome traditional Castlevania RPG on the RPG Maker Windows program
man...it's probably technically impressive, but i just can't see why i'd play it, haha. like, even the bioware attempt didn't interest me, and i'm a sonic fan!
I agree. Unless the battles became a real time Sonic boss battle type of thing. Almost like Rent A Hero, but with better, Sonic related, controls.

There is are several incredible games that used one of RM programs as a base to create truly incredible games. Dragon Ball - Raging Pride is a great RPG , better than any official one, but I've not tried the DS one, regardless its a great game, and if you like DB its a real treatQuote:

^ The presentation there is terrible, stats displayed over the character portraits, the constant boxes with characters names jumping all over the place. Character pictures all being different sizes. The hell is going on? And the portraits even block some of the text.

first of all programming is programming there's the comparison right there. Second of all game companies use popular engines such as the Unreal Engine 4 original games as well. codinge makes the game and these games are uniquely coded
There's programming and then there's doing drag and drops in a premade engine. There's a very big difference. The game looks and sounds exactly like your typical RPGMaker trash that uses stolen assets, generic premade assets that came free with the engine, etc. There's nothing unique about it, it doesn't try to do anything to make itself stand out from typical RPGMaker games either. It is RPGMaker trash. That's not to say you can't make good quality games with RPGMaker, I'm simply pointing out that neither of the examples you've provided are that.Quote:

what's wrong with you how am i trolling this is a very interesting aspect in gaming. , at one point a bit and 16 bit video game programmers word Joe anybody's now there's a lot of them. guess what not all of them suck there's actually some competent and very able programmers that yes to program onto RPG Maker because it allows you to its very flexible people have made their own battle systems. say what you will you are missing out on some great and hidden gems not some generic crap just like when somebody reread to romhacking net is something deeper when done on the right level. just like the Sonic game in the other topic that's custom code in battle system.

say what you will, you find the right game and lay back on a big screen with your controller, and you feel like your in the 90s and just paid 60$ for a new rpg. nothing can beat that feeling, not even sex
He does have a point that I think some of you are overlooking. It takes a good amount of effort to complete an RPG Maker game. Especially if they use their own created/edited graphics, composed music, etc. It does require a level of scripting too.
That said, I don't know how many can keep up with professionally created games. It's the same with M.U.G.E.N. and Beats of Rage. There's good stuff among all 3 engines, but how much is worth sifting through to find the gems?
