Sounds pretty much like capacitor problems. The ugly thing about CDX is that it's so crammed up inside that when capacitors leak they can ruin the pins on the big chips. I repaired one recently which needed pretty much a full recap to get back into work.

Caps often go bad from long term inactivity. That's not the CDX's fault.

That's not the Game Gear, not the SEGA-CD1, SEGA-CD2 fault, either. A good example of system which is also super crammed and is known for having leaky caps is the portable PC-Engine/Turbo Grafx portable. (PC Engine GT/Turbo Express) Also crammed, also suffers of caps leaking on top of big chips pins. But there isn't 206 pin chips on the PCE/TG16, at least.

My point is the thing is crammed up (due to being super compact) and the caps do leak on top of the big chips legs because of that. Making up for tricky repairs.

I saw this. Says it's "New" because he only played it for a month. It's not "New" anymore you retard if you've already opened it up. I getting annoyed to high hell when someone says something is "New" yet it's already opened and out of the package.

It's almost as bad when I see the word "Rare" being abused.

"I found this console boxed in a wharehouse of a old rent games/video club that was closed one month ago. The seller told me that i was the first one to open it.
It seems to be that it was a new console (i only test the console) and it seems to be with all acessories , cables and manuals, all look new, i will put the condition used, but for buyer it will be like buy an almost new system. You can see the pictures for yourself.

Tested with a mega drive 2 and it works perfect. It´s Eu charger plug and it has sega portugal stickers and some others items.

This is a very rare item to get this days especially in this conditions, the box isn´t like new but i think it´s normal to have some damage, you can see the pictures of the box too.
With years passing the value of this will be bigger, so don´t loose this oportunity of buy this especially if you are a colector. "

If I didn't hate the PAL Format so much I would have jumped all over this thing.~
