Nah, all kids behave like that! All kids are scouring for the latest and greatest gadget to impress their peers. After a period of time, you begin to realize that what was once new will become old technology in a year or two (or sonner than that!). With age you begin to learn to appreciate alot of the old stuff that you once rebuffed in your youth.

Going back to your original question, I think a lot of it stems from the fact that there are quite a bit of gay males in society and now since that lifestyle is more accepted, more people can act naturally and be themselves. Of course there are also straight guys acting like girls.

Yeah but you're one person, you're interested in video games and the history of them, therefore you would know this kinda thing, a lot of kids aren't really into that and just play games.

Yeah, but it's more like pressing a face button on your controller. I used an arcade stick with my PS3 and 360 for any games that worked better with a D-Pad. I played Pac-Man C.E using the analog stick, because the D-pad sucked on the 360 controller.

We have this issue in audio engineering which as a field tends to be a tad anachronistic. We generally say "There's two kinds of fools. Those that say this is old and therefore good and those that say this is new and therefore better."

I'm sorry. It's just my opinion (which I stated it poorly; I was in a bit of a sour mood the other day I suppose), but I honestly don't like 90% of what I hear on the radio as of the past 10 years or so. Even when I was a kid, I thought most of the popular music was poor. I don't listen to music much, but most songs I end up liking turned out to be older songs from the 70s and 80s. I'm not saying newer music "sucks" because it's newer, it's just what I feel from my experience with it.

That's my fault for saying something extremely off topic though. I just don't want to be labeled a close-minded ignoramus and have my rep on this site tarnished, although I admit a modicum of ignorance in that I'm no music expert. I suppose I need to still think about things more before I toss them out into the internet.
