get ready to feel old lol..

I remember when that game came out. I was in fourth grade. I spent the night at a friend's house and we stayed up all night playing it, only taking an occasional break to play with his Crash Test Dummy action figures (which cost a bajillion dollars and took 15 minutes to reassemble after wreckin' 'em). We played well over 100 matches because the match counter maxes out at 99 and it reset to 0 on us. Oh good times...
I'm not old, they're just young.
That was some legit playing.
So.....the kids from GLEE are gay anyway.
:p
Is it me or are modern teens a bit more effeminate on average?
^yup
@OP; u do know u can embed, right?
Not recognizing a Sega Genesis controller brings great sadness to my heart.
Is it just me, or do they seem to have NO clue what the D-pad is for? They were all just standing, in place (occasionally knocked backwards), kicking and punching aimlessly. It's like they're so used to 3D that when they're playing a 2D game they don't know what left and right do.
It's kind of amusing how there's a Sub-Zero in every match, the final is Sub-Zero v. Sub-Zero, and no one ever chose Scorpion or Kano. Heh. Well, Sub-Zero is definitely a great character for people who don't know the game that well, I think, so they chose well. I never was any good at MK, so I probably mostly play as Sub-Zero too. :p
Have they dropped an Atari 2600 on these kids yet? If not, what are they waiting for?
Don't know why they didn't get them to react to the arcade version instead.
My reaction to Genesis MK1 as a teen was one of dismay and disappointment thanks to Probe's handy porting skills, might as well show them the real deal.
PS I still loved Genesis MK, back then you learned to love it.
I never liked the first MK game that much. Even as a kid in 90's it never appealed to me. Later I was and still is in love with MK2 though. That was a huge imrovement.
The day MK1 dropped at my local arcade we knew it was no SF killer in the gameplay stakes, but that didn't seem to matter to us as the sound and graphics were amazing.
MK2 just upped the appeal even more, and I was a big player of 3 when it hit arcades and PSX too. These games are some of the best sounding arcade games ever made IMO, something that is lost in the home ports (especially the 16-bit Probe ports, hell, even the 32-bit Probe ports).
I once had some friends come over to play old video games, and there were two kids who had no idea how to hold an Atari 2600 controller.
It was funny and unexpected, we old timers laughed a lot but then taught them how to do it.
And the kids beat some of the old dudes hehehehe
oooh, now THAT definitely has to happen at some point!
I really liked that vid. Picking a character at random, looking for a move that works (high kick, uppercut) and repeating it over and over again... yup, legit fighting game tactics alright! :p Pretty much how I remember approaching the game when I played it for the very first time...
Kinda surprised they didn't comment on the graphics all that much though.
The game recieved mostly positive reactions from the teens. There was only one girl who criticized the graphics. Truth be told, it was a criticism back in the day as well. But the ability to pull off combos and fatalities made the game so much fun. It makes me wonder what the kids' reaction would have been had they seen two skilled players have a go at it and show off some of the fatalities!
They wanted to get real retro-hardware into their hands instead of emulate I imagine and they probably didn't have access to an arcade machine.
Also the Genesis game is probably the most remembered version for most people, for better or worse.
Yeah, they usually have a segment asking them what they thought of the game at the end but they didn't this time. I was disappointed.
People getting upset or angry over the fact that someone born in 1998 or 1999 doesnt know what a Genesis controller is seems weird to me, I mean of course they don't, just a bit before any of these kids time. They probably barely remember the PS1.
The Super Meat Boy video on that channel was entertaining to say the least.
The whole "I don't know how to use this" thing in the video was just a lame attempt at humor. The D-pad on the XBox One controller is still the D-pad on the Genesis controller. It's not rocket science to wrap your brain around the fact that the left thumb's on the D-pad, while the right thumb works the buttons on controllers back then and today. Sure, I could hear someone who's never held a controller before (as in, EVER) saying that, but in this video? Yeah... lame attempt at humor on their part, and nothing more.
Well, I was born in '90, and I was aware of the Odyssey and Atari consoles since I was 8, and I researched the history of video games in the early 2000s when I got the internet.
I've always taken an interest in early video games, and to this day I still actively play many games from before I was born. I even play and enjoy quite a few 2600 games and I still love many early arcade games. It just seems that as time goes on, kids more and more think "that's old and gay", rather than taking an interest in knowing how things came to be.
It's especially disheartening when kids refuse to watch movies and listen to music that's older than 10 years old, especially considering modern music sucks. I detest the "it's old so it automatically sucks" mindset that gets more and more prevalent as time flows on.
What somebody sticks up their ass is their own business and I truly could not care less about it. If I meant to say that there's a lot more gay teens nowadays, I would have just said that. Now, the dudes in that video could have been gay, but they just as easily could not be. We really don't have any way to tell, nor does it really matter as being gay does not automatically make somebody a wuss. No I'm talking about an overall effeminate, wussy leaning I tend to see. Like it's now somehow cool to be the kinda kid that would have caught shit every day (Just to clarify, I was no jock and I have yet to turn 30. I was a computer nerd but I refused to take shit and fought back so I avoided the locker stuffings and whatnot that would inevitably come my way). I'm not basing it off of just this one particular video but from what I tend to see in all forms of current media and life in general.
Nah, all kids behave like that! All kids are scouring for the latest and greatest gadget to impress their peers. After a period of time, you begin to realize that what was once new will become old technology in a year or two (or sonner than that!). With age you begin to learn to appreciate alot of the old stuff that you once rebuffed in your youth.

Yes, and I wouldn't say a little, those boys are absolutely of the effeminate persuasion. Like Will Smith's son Jayden.....Quote:

This country was founded by men wearing powdered wigs.
No Fatalities :(
Like I said, who cares, right?
Going back to your original question, I think a lot of it stems from the fact that there are quite a bit of gay males in society and now since that lifestyle is more accepted, more people can act naturally and be themselves. Of course there are also straight guys acting like girls.
I use it to taunt my victims in PvZ2 Garden Warfare and to change the radio channel(s) and lights in GTA V.
