Was thinking of games that i would like to have seen in the 16 bit era. I would have loved a side scrolling chucky from childs play slice em up like splatterhouse mixed with streets of rage or something. Anyone else ever create games in their head that they'd like to see? id love to hear other people's ideas.
I would have loved to have seen the Genesis make it two more years and overlap into the times of Futurama (1999).
I'd make it either a straight-up platformer or an overhead RPG of some sort. :D
It would probably have ninjas, robots and ninja robots.
Definitely side-scrolling action, probably somewhere between Strider and Shinobi III. I'd want a balance between weaker ranged attacks and a really satisfying melee attacks that cut enemies apart.
Also floods of enemies Gunstar Heroes style, huge bosses and pretty much every other Genesis action game trope you can think of.
That or I would have loved to have another Assault Suits game on the Genesis. Something that finds a happy medium between the difficulty of Leynos and the style of Valken.
A real Mega Man (possibly X) game.
yeah i can imagine futurama as a platformer definitely....could play as bender, fry or leela. haha that should get made. south park would be good on the MD too as the actual tv show is flat 2D.Quote:

A Mega Man X or some other spin-off could have been great. With Mega Drive design sensibilities it could have had much heavier action.Quote:

Strategy RPGS with strange / odd themes differing from the traditional fantasy story, (cyberpunk, etc), because strategy rpgs are my crack.
I'd make a bullet hell shmup with some crazy complex scoring system. I know I only have 80 sprites, but I could use bg layers for some bullet patterns too or some other tricks.
Super Metroid clone
Side scrolling beat'em ups could use another entry so I'd settle for that. I'd go for a greco-roman setting with three character types (power, balance and speed). Graphics style pretty much straight from a Bitmap Brothers game such as Gods or Speedball2, the Ecco artist would also do fantastic work, as seen in City of Forever.
Score system straight from Streets of Rage 2 (3 is a no go). Gameplay also SoR2 but no infinite chains, with SoR3's weapon durability system and evasive roll. I don't want other SoR3 stuff as it compromises the element of forethinking.
As a game specific gimmick I'd think of something simple, like extra score for defeating enemies with breakable weapons, or having a Shinobi series like "Mijin" self desutruction attack that giving extra score.
I'd hire Hitoshi Sakimoto for the soundtrack and tell him to do something similar to Gauntlet 4 and Bad Omen.
I'd do a revisit of the Guardian Legend....Though I'd have to do it on the sega CD to include some killer cut scenes and massive levels and what not...
