Cyrptic New Sega Video

No, it really doesn't. That was one of the first things that really began to grate on me. As a huge fan of the original games the travesties they put out as far back as the sixth generation (after the dreamcast, I actually enjoyed SA and SA2 alot) with games like Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog...::cringes::

I was also a big fan of the Shining Force series, as it got me into RPGS in the first place and I love tactical rpgs because of them. Then, they turned those into action rpgs, and shoddy ones at that.

Sega is the only company that I have both practically worshiped and then, years later, despised. They occasionally make good, such as the fantastic 3DS games...but those are partly so good because the original content was, and the original content is of course from before they butchered everything they touched.

It also sounded to me like they were asking for donations. One tier lower than a kickstarter project. Is this the future of Sega?

Just a cheesy morale booster thing put out by their PR guys.

This video touched me a little. At the same time kind of pissed me off, I mean they have all this potential and amazing IPs but have made quite a few shitty decisions over the years. I honestly feel like someone else, mainly with the knowledge, funds and grew up with the systems should take over by now.

I was gonna say "oh fuck me, not this again", but in all seriousness, they could easily outsource some Android-based, non-descript hunk of ass with an Xbox-ripoff controller and their logo slapped on it like so many other companies are doing now. That's as close as we'd ever get to a DC2, though.

If it is anything, it might be a pre-ad for some sort of new arcade board.

I think one of my main issues is how they seem to think that the birth of SEGA was with the launch of the SEGA SG-1000, but ignore most their arcade and arcade amusement and games they did prior to SG-1000.

Personally hope SEGA is learning from their past achievements and build up Japanese studios to launch new innovative IPs that they actually market. But then again, they love to use their past for market purposes.
