No, it really doesn't. That was one of the first things that really began to grate on me. As a huge fan of the original games the travesties they put out as far back as the sixth generation (after the dreamcast, I actually enjoyed SA and SA2 alot) with games like Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog...::cringes::
I was also a big fan of the Shining Force series, as it got me into RPGS in the first place and I love tactical rpgs because of them. Then, they turned those into action rpgs, and shoddy ones at that.
Sega is the only company that I have both practically worshiped and then, years later, despised. They occasionally make good, such as the fantastic 3DS games...but those are partly so good because the original content was, and the original content is of course from before they butchered everything they touched.
