You think they got the BALLS to actually make an RPG from scratch like Pier Solar?
Beggar Prince 2 would be awesome, no game ending glitches I would imagine

Has nothing to do with "BALLS." When I founded Super Fighter Team, it was in the hope of acquiring licenses for or legal ownership of great video games that originally had their release limited to a specific region or system, and introducing them to a new, worldwide audience. That remains the primary goal of the company, one that I personally think we do a fine job of. :)
oh wow, i had no idea they were on the forums
I will add you on facebok
I didnt mean to take away from what you guys are doing. Bringing a game to english whether it be from another country or an original creation is never an easy feat.
Plus you guys do it the right way and bring originality to the table making us feel like its 1991 again!!!
I just recieved my copy of Beggar Prince i found on a swedish auction site. I have a question, well two actually.
1, I just popped in the game to check that it works, and it starts up fine and goes into the initial dialoge. So here is my first question, are all the conversations in the game on automatic? Im used to having to press a button to call up the next piece of text, but this just rolls on. Im not the quickest reader, and i can just about keep up with the tempo. Is there a way to change this?
2, I hear a rattling noice from within the cartridge, there is something loose in there, as if a component had fallen off the board, or perhaps a plastic tack has been broken off etc.. Should i open the cart and find out or just leave it be. I have not really played the game yet, but it started up fine. If it helps, its one of the two first prints, as it has the less than inspiring early box art.
Thanks and regards,
grimm
Edit: the game is NOS.
1. Only the scripted dialogue in the intro and perhaps the ending (and maybe some other select few ones, I don't remember) are on automatic. The rest, which is like 99% of the game, is manually updated.
2. Maybe the battery is loose. The first two prints had a problematic battery which could get out of place, the function was updated for the third run and the last runs. Have you tried to save, turned off and loaded?
No problem, sir. CMA Death Adder is quite busy with Star Odyssey these days, so an official reply may come later than usual.
Official isnt necessary, i just used the official thread since i figured it might help someone else in the future as well.
Zebbe, i took some time and played enough to get out of the town, i saved a couple of times and then turned the system off and on again, it kept the saves. I am so curious of what the rattling might be though..
@ Brandon:
I agree, you guys are doing a very fine job. Already at your third Genny worldwide title run and the quality of the products continue to impress us with every game.
I know I keep asking the same question, but at the risk of sounding obnoxiously repetitive, I really must know. What will be the elements/forces that might warrant a future re-release of this game (Beggar Prince)? I've noticed that the possibility for another Wukong run is rummored to be wanning daily. I fear that opting out of another Beggar Prince run may have something to do with the company having to re-write some of the contracts, or even re-do the entire process from scratch (which might cost you way more time and money). I personally wouldn't mind paying a little extra if that's the case. Heck, add a Beggar Prince sticker page or postcard and call it the Special Edition ;). I know I'm not alone in this, there are many of us who believe strongly that there is still a market out there that demands this game greatly.
Ok I'm really wondering about something in BP. Do your spells ever get more powerful as you level? I don't mean learning new spells I mean the existing ones getting better as your character gets stronger. Most RPGs have some stat that determines how powerful your magic is ie: wisdom, or intellect or some such stat. Thus, a basic spell can still be quite powerful when cast by a high level character. Does this happen in BP, because it really doesn't seem to.
I'm about 2/3 through this game (yeah I know, late to the party) and I'm starting to notice that magic is really becoming useless compared to how powerful your basic attack is. It's like you learn a new spell and it's useful for about 2 or 3 levels, then your attack increases and the new spell is outmatched, and the older spells seem like a total waste of time...
Anyone else notice this?
Well I broke down and bought a friends Beggar Prince off of him and so far I'm enjoying it.
I'm only very early in (just fell in hole leading to under the castle).
Which version did you get?
