Wow, I just had this disturbing thought... customers requesting a certain state or country's newspaper to have the game wrapped in, when they order. *shudder*Quote:

That's weird. I just turned this game on again and there were two save files, both at level 0, which I never made (slots 2 and 4). I started one of them and a picture of the castle with the moon over it appeared and then faded out. The it appeared again and faded out. And again. Bizarre! Sega CD was connected, but not the 32X.
Yeah, hopefully I'll have this on it's way tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.
That's a behavior consistent with a hardware conflict. It's the same result you would get trying to load a saved game when running the original Chinese version of the game in an emulator (because the emulators don't support Beggar Prince's save game programming either). If your SegaCD is attached, that would very well explain it. The original saved game routine's programming has a conflict with the 32X and, in some cases, the SegaCD. Not in all cases, mind you, as people including myself have no problem saving/loading with a SegaCD model 2 attached to their system - but it unfortunately isn't a perfect science. If you remove your SegaCD and try the cartridge again, the save function should perform normally.Quote:

Brandon ships very quickly. I ordered over the weekend and I had it in my hands Wednesday. Not too shabby considering he's in CA and I'm in NC.
I'm only on the first dungeon, but already I love the way the game is shaping up. Probably the best thing is the quirkiness of the game, the translators did a great job of giving the game personality, instead of being a bland direct translation that I've seen from a lot of fanmade translation patches.
Nomadness - I absolutely LOVE playing RPGS on portables. The text is nice and big, and most everything is easily viewable on the Nomad. However, like in many games you can't see some of the finer touches of detail on such a small screen. I actually got embarassingly stuck in the town and I didn't know what to do next. I knew I needed to see the lumberjack, and I had been to his house, but didn't know where else to go, so I searched for HOURS. I pop the cart into the X'Eye and view it on the TV, and I see that there is a doorway on the left, I thought it was just a window. At least I got lots of Milk Candies for my trouble.
Yeah, I just ordered my copy. I can't wait for three to six days to pass and I have it in my hands.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. It's always uplifting to read nice things about something you worked very hard to make possible. Your continued interest and support is very heartwarming. :)
Wow, my copy arrived today. A day earlier than I thought it would. Shipping is something fantastic!
Anyway, I'm enjoying it so far. Just got the Crown. The first dungeon is a good deal easier than I thought it would be.
I recommend using that dungeon to build your levels for a bit. It will come in handy later.
Okay guys, I was hoping that I could beat the game without help, but I seem to be stuck near the end.
I have gotten though the castle, transformed the Cat Minister into a cat and freed the king from the jail. I know that I need to go see Priest Sarah in the Fog Woods, and I know where the woods are thanks to the map, but how do I get there? The spot indicated on the map is surrounded by thorns, and judging from someone else's post I'm not supposed to have them just yet. So, what am I missing that I haven't done?
All the text is blacked out! OH! NO!
The Fog Forest is the area where the tree people live. You have been there before.Quote:

I found an interesting (but not game breaking) bug near the end of the game here. It is X'Eye exclusive, it seems. When you are in the demon/graveyard dungeon at the end there is an enemy called a "Specter" and everytime he uses his magic attack the game freezes. Every time, without fail. I pop the cart into my Genesis 1, and it plays perfectly. How odd.
I finally got the time to sit down and beat the game. Ah, what a fun RPG, and just the right length, I think most RPGs are too long.
Winners don't use drugs.
Not X'Eye exclusive, but rare. We weren't able to fully fix it due to budget constraints.Quote:

As if the Primeval Forest wasn't enough of a pain in the ass already, this bug came along and literally destroyed all the time I had spent running through it for the first time. Needless to say, after we fixed that bug my heart soared. Of course, even with that bug fixed, the Primeval Forest is still a pain in the ass.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)Quote:
