@Death Adder
I would like to try to do the cover artwork for your next game. Is there any chance if I, say, make an own Beggar Prince cover you like?
Or make a competition of it! It would be much cooler if somebody who actually cares about the product could take part in it, rather than a hired artist to whom it is just a job like a dozen others.
Personally I have already sold some of my artwork, but not for publishing. And I am sure many people can do better than the person who did the artwork for Beggar Prince (although I know that this artist was not the one you originally had in mind)
Did the second print run sell out?
Can I get a link to your portfolio, perhaps? That, or you are welcome to select some of your favorite (and hopefully relevant to the subject matter) pieces, and send them directly to me.Quote:

No, we've just under 50 copies left.Quote:

Why do you care so much about the future Genesis Gamer? (I refuse to put that odd space in your name). Enjoy the present, which means now.
Something tells me you should quit speculating so much on future events and making redundant statements and enjoy Beggar Prince. After all, its not everyday you get a copy of a new Genesis release eh?Quote:

CMA Death Adder: How come you are trying to get a license from Sega for the new game when you didn't do it with Beggar Prince?
He did try. The janitor didn't let him, remember?
Good question.Quote:

Thus, I feel it is only right to acquire the proper permissions from Sega to release future products for their system.
We honor C&E by having their permission and support for Beggar Prince. In the same manner, we should honor Sega by having their blessing to support the Genesis. I'm not saying it'll happen, but trying feels so much better to me than just shrugging my shoulders and thinking, "Well, Sega probably doesn't even care, so why bother?"
It's just the principle of the thing, and it just feels right.
The Beggar Prince project, while a success, took more time than I had envisioned and went through some rough spots (such as the disagreements with Oldergames). When the game was completed and ready to go, I owed it to our customers to deliver it on time. Had I held up the game's release while trying to negotiate a license from Sega, things wouldn't have been so clean cut, and lots of people would've been disappointed.Quote:

But at least they seem to be talking to you at all. They didnīt hang up the phone immediately.
CMA Death Adder: That's very cool, and I agree with you on these things. :ok: I hope getting a license from Sega turns out well for you!
Here are my tips for some great boxart for the next game:
- Don't mix CG and 2D graphics. It doesn't look good. In fact, 3D doesn't fit a Genesis/Mega Drive game boxart at all.
- Have the grid and logo inside this special model, which was a standard for early G/MD games. For example Herzog Zwei and Space Harrier II.
- Don't call Sega their old name Sega Enterprises, Ltd. Their name since 2000 is Sega Corporation.
- Use the whole back of the box. You could have written "32 MEGA POWER!" and "BATTERY BACK-UP!" on Beggar Prince for example. The whole white background should have had some cool light artwork.
- Also have the original company's logo on the box, even if they are defunct.
I still like the box of Beggar Prince, btw ;)
Yes, mega power needs to be excitedly claimed somewhere on the box. On the back it should say "Graphics that will KILL YOU!" like Galaxy Force on the SMS. Something like "Not two, not three, not four, but 32 times the power of normal videogames! 32 Mega Power delivers graphics that will KILL YOU!"
I wonder if any parents who where going to buy Galaxy Force for the Sega Master System for their kids didn't, because the game would kill them with it's awesome graphics.
Probably. They wouldn't want to be an accessory to murder.
I'm in a little predicament here. I can't get out of the forest. The one where you fight, I think it was the yellow dragon gaurding a Nile Stone in a chest. It's on one of the islands, the bigger of the 2.
I already did the cave where you put the statues on the floor to open the door. Now I'm trying to go back through that forest but I can't find the exit to the left side of it. I always find the exit to the right side of it, but I believe I have to go to the left side of it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Spoiler tags ahoy! Ready your decoder glasses!Quote:

The reason is because I thought I missed something, so I went back through it, then I couldn't remember how I got off that island. I then went north back through the cave with the statues on the floor but that didn't get me anywhere.Quote:

Once you have visited the native villages and escaped, there is no reason whatsoever to go back. It is actually impossible to "miss something" while you are there; at least, something that is essential to completing the game. In fact, the game has a bug (which we could not fix) by which if you have the prince return to the native villages once he has escaped them, it is not possible for him to escape them again.Quote:

I just wanted to see how the natives react when the prince returned...
I thought that maybe then he would marry the lovely princess and there is a special ending. Or that there would be at least some funny scene.
Couldnīt you just have made the dock where the turtle appears inaccessable?
It sounds easy enough just to put, like, a stone on the point where the event is triggered.
It may sound easy enough, but... :(Quote:

Yeah I got stuck there too and restarted because I saved before going in.Quote:

I'm missing one gem, thats why I went back there. Not sure where it is :?
Thanks for the info.
Didn't the prince trade away one gem, early in his adventure...?Quote:

I have searched high and low but nope can't find them.
Theres a door that I can't get through right after the big chest. So I don't know if the boots are in there because I have tried everything to get past that door.
This must sound stupid, but man I have spent forever in the Palace trying to find those boots...
That's because they're not in the palace... but you shouldn't be worried about them yet, anyway.Quote:

I have talked to the king up to the point of getting him out of jail. I'm on the search for 3 things now and have the first item. Now I have to find the ocean, I guess ??
@ Mr Smith ok your clue might help... maybe :)

Thanks for the tips... I guess if I didn't spend so much time in one spot I would have figured it out. Cheers.

That's a scan of the box cover, as it appeared for the original release in Taiwan.Quote:
