Bought Beggar Prince. Liked it. I originally registered here to ask some questions about it, but I eventually found the answers had been posted here already. The only thing I still wonder about-I played the game on a Nomad. Recently though, I got me an AV cable to plug the Nomad on a TV screen, but I found that Beggar Prince looked rather weird. Mostly, the character's eyes became big red dots. Also, I noticed that the screen wasn't centered right-there's a weird little border on the left side of the screen and below, though that isn't specific to Beggar Prince as every other game I've tried did the same thing. Does the Nomad usually do that when you plug it to a TV, is it the cable, or is it the TV? Anybody knows?
Anyway, looking forward to the next Super Fighter release. I know Surging Aura has been mentioned by some hopefuls... Somehow I know that won't be it, but that'd have been fucking awesome. Seriously.
I'm not sure about the Nomad specifically, but your TV could be showing too much overscan on the left and/or the picture is out of center. Usually that can be adjusted via the TV's service menu, but getting there is different for all TVs. But I'd point the finger at the TV before I pointed my finger at the Nomad. Maybe CMA Death Adder could program you a special version? Kidding of course
Cool. Thanks!Quote:

Thanks for your interest and support. We don't disappoint you.Quote:

Nor was C&E's "World Pro Baseball '94" featured in the Baseball Spectacular feature, despite being the only Taiwan-produced sports game for the Megadrive to feature fully-licensed Asian sports team names and players. D'oh! It seems some things just weren't meant to be.Quote:

Glad to hear you guys sold through both your runs. I purchased mine last Summer but haven't really had a chance to get into it yet. From the few hours I'm into it though, it's definitely a fun little 16-bit RPG. You guys did really good work!
Thanks. I knew we'd be able to sell through 600 copies, but I hadn't quite expected demand to extend over 900+. In fact, there's e-mail requests coming in quite often, asking for a third run. So, I may just have to do that... we'll see.Quote:

But of course for you, it´s a good thing to see the demand.
I thought the same thing, 108. Another pressing might be good and 'bad'. I'd like to see an official strategy guide for BP, though - remember hearing about it shortly after the game was released.
I'd be interested to know why you feel that way, aside from your delay concern.Quote:

I thought the same thing Zebbe did. He just wants his game to be worth more when he hawks it on eBay.
I'm going to risk possibly being flamed here, but hopefully everyone will agree. I enjoyed Beggar Prince much, much more than either the Blue Dragon or Eternal Sonata demos for the 360. I'll buy neither of those games.
Another 300 copy run is not going to make Beggar Prince much less ultr@ r@re - also it give you the chance to buy another ultr@ r@re copy to flog on ebay at a later date.Quote:

I'm not sure... I've been so focused on possibly producing more copies of Beggar Prince that it's been severely delayed. ;)Quote:

I was joking about the delays, hence the " ;) " at the end of the comment.Quote:

In fact, the only thing that ever poses a delay to my company's progress is, unfortunately, the opposite sex ... which, err, for obvious reasons, cannot be helped. Except, I do remember my last girlfriend actually being jealous of my company (despite not knowing what a Sega Genesis is), so even women aren't much of a speed bump for me, apparently.
Those kind of people are everywhere. You can't escape them.Quote:

It might be an X'Eye or CD-X only release.
I am very aware of that. Maybe because Beggar Prince wasn't released for those systems, the new one will instead.

My concerns are the delay of the next MD-game because I am very excited about it...and that if it is delayed for too long itīs release might collede with our own Tavern RPG, which would be bad for both SFT and us.
@Brandon: Sorry, I forgot to tell you, but I didnīt send you any artwork because I was able to join the TRPG team at about the same time. Since you had another artist in mind anyway and TRPG is a hell lot of work, I decided to concentrate on one thing. Maybe Iīll knock on your door in the future again; then 'Iīll have a website to show too!;)
Well, almost anything is just alleged until it's 100% confirmed.Quote:

Well, the good ones do, anyway. I suppose we could just crank out a monochrome version of Tic-Tac-Toe, if you'd prefer. :(
Whatever the hell it is I'm supposed to be working on right now, rest assured that it will have a proper (and efficient) development cycle. For great justice.
As you volunteered to send artwork without being asked, it's no problem. I had actually forgotten about it until just now...Quote:

Teenage Queen?
It was released and sold like 10 million copies, causing a demand for Genesis consoles so great that Sega started producing them again and announced work on a new console, tentatively named the Galaxy, with launch titles including a proper Phantasy Star V (designed by the PSIV team), a new Shining Force (designed by the original team also) that will actually be a strategy RPG instead of some below average action rpg no one anywhere gives a shit about, Streets of Rage IV (altough rumors say it'll be a turn-based RPG, oddly enough), a new Sonic that will ditch 3D for, get this, 4D (you'll need special glasses but they'll come with the system) and possibly, the long awaited Traysia II, which will mark the return of Telenet.
Or maybe they got bored and stopped working on it since everyone told them they sucked for porting that bullshit instead of working on something someone might want to play instead, cause I sure haven't heard a word about it since the original topics.
Actually, that one's just a nasty rumor. Truth be known, the people behind the runaway freight train that was 4d Sports Boxing have assembled together ONE LAST TIME to create this new Sonic game, which will mark a new era for the Galaxy (aka the Sega Five-and-a-QuarterDrive) in this otherwise stale, predictable market. And, as with 4d Sports Boxing, this new Sonic game will, indeed, transcend time and space. It's like playing Socket: Time Dominator but, like, with Sonic instead.Quote:

Point, but I have a heap of things going on at any given time. Cover-art (which has absolutely ZERO impact on the gameplay of a product) wasn't my biggest concern.Quote:

Brandon please please please consider another production run of Beggar Prince! It looks utterly fantastic...
I missed out due to redeveloping my love for all things 16 bit a little too late, Trust me man more and more people are returning to the Gen!
There are surely hundreds more out there like me who have been kicking ourselves at missing the first two sales!
Ye truly are an inspirational gang, bringing back the dreams of old today... Legends.
Also 108 stars is the Rpg your crew working on for the gen? Is it a homebrew for emulators or is it going to be a release just like Beggar Prince?
Yes, itīs for the Sega CD and probably for Genesis too. It is an entirely new game, and it will get a release like Beggar Prince, hopefully in 2008.;)Quote:

Have you a big influence in the production of it?
There´s very little to see at http://www.eidolons-inn.net/tiki-ind...age=Tavern+RPG at the moment.
However, there´ll be a feature on Sega-16 sometime in the next weeks. There you can get all the infos, screenshots and so on.
Personally, I am one of the graphic designers; as such I am involved in character-design, sprites, backgrounds, monsters, cutscenes and promotional artwork.
Listening to your views on Rpgs over the past few months on this very forum, I will look forward very much to an Rpg with your input, hopefully you are working with likeminded individuals and can offer something very cohesive and reflective of what you would want in an Rpg, I for one will be buying a copy anyway...
Wow, thanks. Believe me, we are all doing our best!
Great to hear, the perception out there is that genesis has a library lacking in Rpgs compare to the other 16 bit great the snes, but by the looks of things, the gen is catching up thanks to guys like ye and the superfighter team,
Hopefully now the superfighter team will do another production run of beggar prince also, and I could have 2 brand new Rpgs for the gen within the next year
Good luck fellas
Hold the toast! Tavern RPG is going to be finished? Hasn't it been in the works for...a decade or something? And what do you mean, a release 'like Beggar Prince'? Are we talking clamshells and manuals, 108?
Of course, that´s what we are talking about.Quote:

No, 108 Stars, I am waiting for your artwork to be included in the interview ;). Then I will send it in for Melf's approval. :)
