I am aware of that, but I just don't get it sometimes. I can see why some are entertained by the violence of Mortal Combat, but how Snow Bros. can be the best game ever I just don't get.

Thanks, everyone, for your dedication, support and patience. It is very much appreciated. :)
Yup, got my notification. Just in time for Christmas; sweet.
I got notification too - apparently I am a "valued customer" :D
Got my confirmation email today. Yay!!
ReVival Magazine (France) recently published an interview with me in their 35th issue:
I got mine today, thanks Brandon. The case and everything looks great.
Mine came as well, so I have Beggar Prince again at last.
You're quite welcome.Quote:

This is the help forum. Go ahead and post about where you're stuck, and I can offer some help next time I pop in.Quote:

Gritty kitty, eh? As in Ren & Stimpy? "47 meellion dollars?! I'M THE CAT!"
*cough*... anyhoo...
I don't mind sharing hints ever so often, as long as the person asking for them has tried everything they can think of before asking.Quote:

thanks for the help. your hint reminded me of some advice a townsperson gave me that i didn't fully use. how did you use the black background text in your previous post? that's a good idea!
yeah, i've been a ren and stimpy fan since it first came out. it's second only to the simpsons in my mind :)Quote:

Hi, I think I've come across a problem, (I don't want to give anything away to people who haven't got this far yet, so if you haven't... stop reading!). I'm in they pyramid, I collected the four objects for the pedistals, but something odd seems to be happening! Only two objects appear in my inventory at a time! for instance, when I place the owl and the knife, then leave the room and enter it again the staff and the leg appear in my inventory, when I place the staff and the leg on the pedistal, leave the room and enter it again, I only have the owl and the knife and the other two objets are nowhere to be seen!!! :'( What's happening? Do I have to reload a previous save? How can I prevent getting stuck like this again?
Any help would be most appreciated! :)
I've also noticed weird bugs in this game too. I had this game freeze on me once and displayed weird graphics. Also, there's no way of keeping track the number of your item inventory. For example, I grab an unlimted supply of chocolate pieces from a chest, but the item screen doesn't display how many you actually have.
You can see that if you use the "look" command (or something similar, I don't recall it fully).
Highlight the black portion of this message (below) with your mouse to read the text:Quote:

In the inventory screen, have you tried scrolling all the way to the bottom? Maybe you are carrying too many items to be displayed at once.
Sure, there is - at the inventory screen, select the item, press button 'C', and select to get info on it. You can then see how many you have. This can also be done in combat. Coincidentally, this information is included in the game's instruction manual. If you have questions about how the game works, the answers are definitely in the manual.Quote:

Brandon - I reloaded from the start of the pyramid, and everything has worked fine this time (I'm through the doors and out of it)! For what it's worth I wasn't carrying too many items (don't know if that'll help you track down any bug sources). Absolutly awesome game by the way, never had the patience to do a RPG before (bar the Shenmues) and I doubt whether I'll be able to play any other Megadrive rpgs cos they all seem so pale in comparison to BP.
Thanks, this means a lot to me. Beggar Prince is a diamond in the rough, as MD RPGs are concerned, and it's truly unfortunate that this game didn't get the attention it deserved back in the heyday of the system - but that's why Super Fighter Team exists: to put the spotlight back on great gaming machines and their games.Quote:

I dont want to read the whole topic today (sooo much posts) and want to give a feedbackafter playing the 1. print
The game is really awesome and the first RPG since many years.
The review of the game may be have done so many people before me, so i dont do it again. The game is cool, thanks for releasing it.
The user 108 Stars said my copy has a bug, what had no one other, so i will tell you, maybe you can help me or have heard it from someone other, but think i am not a querolant who want say something stupid, i will give you a feedback and maybe you can help me.
1. In my game i cant get higher than Lv12 becaus after that you have to get more than 10.000 ExP, but the game cant show this it shows /12000 the signs before the 12000 are only pixel and i have trained maybe 2 hours. i thought the game cant only display the number, but i couldnt Level up (but i have finished the game)
2. By some Boss, i didnt know which he was has the game frozen and then the screen shows some signs of pixel and cracked figures. i couldnt do much only triggle A to slay the opponent. I turned the Mega Drive off maybe 10 times but the bug was everytime . After 5 trys i beat the opponent with luck (he misses sometimes) because i couldnt heal myself. After i beat the boss the game works fine. I didnt know how this happened.
So i must say overall a grat game. I respect and thank you for the work to all MD / genesis gamer.
But i think its a bit bad that i had a game which will get a 2. print with taking the bugs out, and i have paied the full price, what gets me to by it twice to get a bug-free game, thats a high price (about 100 euro), but it would be glad if you can say the 2 bugs i wrote has no one else, so i had bad luck but the other a well playable game.
In awaiting for the answer
Sören
Solution: Wait until the 2nd release of Super Fighter Team's next game when they take the bugs out of that one.
Thanks! I'm glad you've been enjoying it.Quote:

Every game cartridge has the exact same hardware and software, and each cartridge was tested in the same way, to make sure there were no problems with the software or defects with the hardware.Quote:

Please contact me by e-mail so we can discuss this further. I don't visit the forum every day, but I can guarantee support by e-mail on a daily basis.
All the reprogramming we did to fix bugs in the original game was done before the first production run of the game was released. The third production run did not include any bug fixing: what it did have was a rewritten saved game routine. The saved game routine problem wasn't a bug, it was a programming conflict.Quote:

Sorry matteus, the only bug that you have with the first version is that horrible box art, there were no bug fixes on the current release......
I'd say that making it work with the 32X and Sega CD attached is a pretty big bug fix.
Immense, saves 20 seconds every time you load it up ;) but seriously regarding matteus' post I think he was more referring to ingame bugs
There are no bugs fixed, and i dont think its hard to remove the 32x.
With my Sega Mega CD it is no problem to save.
With mine it sure is. It forgets the save intermittently and without warning. Still does, even after refastening the battery to make sure it doesn't move, so I don't think it's that.
You should ask for a new cartridge, Joe. The manual of the first run didn't say anything about being forced to remove the Sega CD to save the game, only the 32X. Your battery holder was also faulty, so there is no reason not to ask for a new cartridge when highest quality was assured by the developer. Or is it?
Yeah, and I need a new copy too! My...my copy has...uhm...well, the cover seems water damaged!!!:D
Seriously, I believe Joe should get a replacement.
... for FREE!!! as they say in America.
I think we've gone over Joe requesting a new cart before. As in, "I haven't asked for one and never will".
OK. Can I get a new cartridge?
I would have been more than happy to personally examine your cartridge, Joe, and send you a new one in the event that I found an unfixable defect. I thought I had made this clear to you when the issue was first raised. However, it has been quite some time since then, and I've since run out of stock of the original board. If you still want to me to check your copy out for a possible problem, I'll gladly do so.Quote:

Oh, certainly. The last thing I need right now is another copy of Beggar Prince. :)Quote:

When you send it, feel free to use media rate shipping. It's extremely inexpensive ($1~$3) yet will still arrive quickly.

I thought you guys were in Texas.
I have tons of Priority boxes sitting around, so unless I find something else to use I might just pay the $4.60.
