For debug purposes, every location in the game has its own internal name, even the ones where you can't normally save your game. Thus when you save your game, the save location will refer to that internal name, not the area as a whole. For example, saving inside of a hut on the island may show up in your save file as "village hut" (or some such similar name) rather than the name of the actual village. These internal names made more sense in the original Chinese version of the game, where they could be rendered using only a handful of characters. When the game was localized to English, I had to make sure they all fit within the limited screen width (14 characters?). Thus not all of them will appear with a title that's 100% clear to the player.
When looking for a location to visit, always refer to the map printed in the instruction manual.
