I could go for new cartridge games as well.If the company said we need a cart to put the game in for you.Provided thats its the right game I would send over my street fighter II cart right away.

The PC had a bad rep in the late 80s early 90s.But I thought it was great. I never had a Amiga or Atari ST I only had PCs. So I had to make do with what I had and when the Computer was being used by another family member I always had my own genesis. Which my parents had no desire to play. I wanted PC games on my Genesis because I never got my own computer untill I was 13. Now I have my own money so I can buy my own computer and buy the one I want.
But Dangerous Dave is my favorite PC platformer. And I think it wold make a good Genesis game.

It is most possible to put a fps on the genesis in dungeon master format. Where you can only turn 90 degres. The amiga had Deathmask which was the same way.

I just played Toy Story for MD and there's a pseudo-3D level in there that looks better than Duke Nuke, Zero Tolerance or any other similar MD game. I think it's definitely of high enough quality to base a MD game around. Does anyone know what Toy Story did that made it look so much better than other MD FPS games?
The pseudo-3D alien grabbing level is very short and not very tall. The 2D background also appears often and is very pretty, perhaps making you think the ugly grey level is better looking than it actually is - much like how alcohol alters the attractiveness of women.
Haha, well in comparison to the grainy mess of Duke Nukem and the eye-strain Zero Tolerance causes I think it's clearly superior. Sure, it looks drab, but that's a purely aesthetic fault I'd say, not one of technical ineptitude. My point is, a whole MD game with thal level of detail would be one I'd like to play.
That Duke Nukem port for the Genesis is such crap. It doesn't resemble Duke Nukem in any way. It looks like they tried to port Wolfenstein 3D with some Duke Nukem art, but hired some seriously inexperienced programmers. I mean, if it was that hard to do the game then they should have added an extra chip or not done the game at all.
Also, if the Apple IIgs can do a Wolfenstein 3D game (http://www.sheppyware.net/software-gs/wolf3d/) then the Genesis should *atleast* come close. Sure the 65c816 is more efficient in the MIPS department than a 68k of equal clock speed - but the Apple IIgs used a measly 2.8mhz version! I mean....shit, come' on.
To be fair, Duke Nukem MD is impressive in its own special way, but the anaemic palette crossed with that pixel-doubling effect they used to fake a bigger screen kinda ruined it... that and the fact that I've never beaten the first level (or even the first few rooms)! If anyone has a gameshark code for invincibility or something, post it! Most of what I know about this game is taken from watching the demo videos at the start.
If someone sends me the original cartridge, I can find invincibility codes with my ARP2! Only takes half an hour or so! So, send me your spare carts!
I'd be very, very surprised if anyone had a "spare" copy of Duke Nukem MD, but nevertheless, I second this idea!
Another point - the game Bloodshot has split-screen two-player deathmatch with no real slowdown (admittedly, the game wasn't particularly fast to begin with). Maybe someone in the know could tell me - is this due to ingenious coding, or simple to impliment once you have an engine down?
If anybody has a second spare copy of Duke Nuke Em feel free to send it to me. I do not offer invinciblity codes or tactical insight, I just want to steal your game. Thanks.
Your forgetting that the Genesis doesn't have a frame buffer, and can't address the screen like the other systems can.Quote:
