I'd love to get a hold of this. I haven't seen any on eBay, or Amazon, or anywhere for that matter.Quote:

How far did you get in the game, Joe? And is the hoax DOOM Gen site still around?
i have it

you can tell it's fake too.. in the TV shots, notice it has a vertical blur, that's the flicker filter of most conventional video cards TV outputs..
not only that, but the chroma NTSC distortion isn't that of a Genesis..
and to top it off, he admitted ;)
It's true. After I went and did this great H&H article on it, outrunner revealed to me that it was a fake. The guy posted so on the Doom site, and said he was "trying to spur interest in the Genesis homebrew community." How the hell he thought this would do it is beyond me, but he knew I was writing the article and said nothing. It was only after he was exposed that he came clean. Dumbass.Quote:

DN3D does not run off the Zero Tolerance engine.
I have tested it in a real genesis and can safely say it runs faster and less choppy. It also has effects not possible in Zero Tolerance. As for the framerate it is a bit slow but not as slow as Zero Tolerance.
In conclusion it is possible but the devlopmentment tools aren't there.
PS Outrunner, how did you know it was fake?
I can not tell you that it does run off the zt engine.
I have started to wonder after seeing this image.
Also I knew it was fake because I kept visiting the doom site and king announced it was a hoax and I felt stupid for beliving him.
Make no mistake this was not about revenge.
But about seeing a favorite website of mine get fooled.I am a diehard fan of sega-16 and think site owner had a right to know.
Zero Tolerance is a great game.
In the end, TecToy just proved they had some very skilled people in-house. Duke Nukem looks impressive thanks to the large screen and it´s smooth framerate.
And Street Fighter II for Master System is just as impressive too, looking almost like the 16-Bit-versions at first sight.
Guys I'm sure I could research it through the sites database but I'm all confused now, so just to clarify things....
-There is a duke nuke 3d for the Megadrive (cartridge, manual, box ie full release)
- It is impressive
- It is extremely rare and expensive
- The hoax you are referring to is a homebrew project that bears no relation to the actual official genesis release
Are these correct?
-There is Duke Nukem 3D for MD, official release with box, manual etc,
-It is impressive because it´s fast and it has a larger screen than other MD-first person shooters
-It was released in Brazil only, therefore it´s rare.
-Prices are very high with the auction I was taking part in ending for something over 90,-€
The hoax was not Duke Nukem, but DOOM for MD.
Thanks, but god damnit i'm a fool for getting mixed up between the two constantly,
Only in Brazil!! I know that place is megadrive mad, but that must have taken segas most skilled programmers and they only threw it out there then!
Sega had nothing to do with it.
TecToy is Sega´s licensee there; they publish all the Sega-stuff in Brazil. It was TecToy who coded Duke Nukem 3D as well.
I think i'm going to have to try and get my hands on it eventually myself anyway, thanks for all the info 108
Good luck getting a copy of that. World peace (it isn't a game) is easier to attain than a copy of Duke Nuke 'Em.Quote:
