Yes but I don't see many youtube videos saying that in their videos or displaying the model one like people in the picture and a few more. My point was the youtubers showing love to the design and sound parts of model one.

Perhaps but I see it alot on youtube videos too. There isn't that many professional videos saying the genesis and its top 20 games are better than the snes and its top 20 games. Again Trekkies, I can be mistaken by all this.

You have a point but in the bloodlines video they admit it is a good game, like the special effects, like it is NES style type 16 bit game and more however they haven't made a video yet not talking about Snes and in this case SC4. They really like the Splatterhouse games though like I said and I feel they are opening up more to the genesis and its library but they just can't shake the snes or snes version is better chatter for the most part. Do you kind of see what I mean or do you disagree?

He's always been open about his Sega fanboyism. He's come a long way since the early days of CGR though. The last 5 years or so, he's given equal attention to just about every console ever. The sheer volume is actually pretty impressive.

Wish they hadn't, then it would be so much cheaper still :(

Do you think both the snes and genesis consoles and games will go up 25% after both the Console War movie and documentary in 2016? I heard nothing since 2014. Are these still happening? Is it hipsters jacking up prices or more people like the forum members trying to keep up with current prices?

Yes, and this will continue to happen for quite some time. Either buy an everdrive or get bled out by people who think "retro" is "hip." Ironically, forums dedicated to older games contribute to their rising value and scarcity. :cool:

Well, they are certainly much cooler than most of the people here, and they also now play retro games too even if they do drink shitty beer.

Yeah, I don't see too many hipsters with youtube gaming channels. Most of them look like nerds with nothing better to do. I like playing games and all, but not enough to spend all my spare cash so I can have a big wall of boxes and cases behind me while I ramble and rant as if my opinion really matters.

Nerds grew up, got jobs, and ruined it. Hipsters just copied them.

I blame simple supply and demand for price increases. Hipsters are not cooler than anyone here or elsewhere, they just think they are.

And who's this "everyone"? Because the only ones I would see that could hate anyone for blaming hipsters for rising up game prices, would be, well, hipsters.

I think there is an element of it being seen as 'cool' now to collect, certainly more so than it was a few years ago. Coupled with supply and demand, and the icnrease in exposure of retro gaming through Youtube shows etc...I think it was inevitable that market prices would rise. I wonder though if the bottom will fall dramatically out of the market when those 'fad' collectors lose interest? Could be some serious buying to do if it does!
