Shadow of The Beast on PS4.
-
The first Shadow of the Beast was instant nostalgia. I love the music. The Game Over sequence of part II is simply Iconic. I'm sold on any Shadow of the Beast follow-up as it is.
Other threads on Sega-16 on the PS4 Shadow of the Beast, though:

Graphically it looks great, but I still think the game looks shallow as hell. The gameplay looks as repetitive and bland as you can get.

The good: The landscape looks much more Roger Dean-esque than the last time I saw it.
The bad: I'm not a fan of the God of War influence in the gameplay.
The ugly: Too much blood.

Touche'.

I'm curious to see how this turns out. The original was basically all aesthetics and atmosphere, so it'll be interesting to see how this one plays.

Yeah, it did really have a God of War vibe to me as well.

The game still looks bland to me. Sorry, just saying it as I see it, don't mean to be negative. I love Shadow of the Beast 1 & 2, as well as the lesser known third one, but this reboot just feels wrong.
The first two games were renowned for their fiendishly unfair puzzles; this looks nothing like that, and more of a low grade 2D Indie beat'em up with pretty visuals. I'm not impressed, and frankly, the lack of a physical release doesn't help matters. I'll wait for the reviews before I make up my mind to buy it or not.

I'm not thrilled at all we're not getting a physical release. Saw it coming, though.

Yeah, so much stuff is digital only now. But the Asian English release is a good option since the PS4 is region free. $30 USD is pretty cheap for a brand new PS4 game.

This changes things. I still don't like the look of the game, but I'm a fan of the previous games, so I have to give this the benefit of the doubt. I might pick this up now. Thanks, man.

I didn't like the amiga games and this looks quite shallow also a skip for me.
