And Paris France surrendered without a shot being fired.
They may get it, but for most people, it's in one ear out the other. I would venture to say that way too many people couldn't point to the UK on a map.
And if you've been here any amount of time, you should have been able to glean where Gogogadget is from, he makes no secret of it.
You guys honestly find geography talk more interesting then Hitler, Disney Wars, and the Nintendo Switch? ... Well I can understand the last one, but come on.
Most people under 30 maybe. The education system has gone to crap. One of the sales girls in my office has a college degree, yet she can't even point out Utah on a map. Blows my mind.
Here's my thoughts on switch: 2 games at launch, a long software drought for most of the year......yeah, Nintendo's never done that before.
^My only hope is that we could see more physical releases of games that would normally get stuck in download-only purgatory.
Interesting, just read an article kind of about this: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...more-expensive
I doubt Americans really learn about 'West Midlands'
Then again, I watched WWE once and they said Newcastle was a small mining town a stones throw away from London.
A stones throw being 550 miles, and a small mining town being one of our biggest cities. Oh America.
I'm pretty sure Europeans think Texas is full of Cowboys herding cattle:
That's one hell of an assumption considering the console hasn't even been out for two weeks and the reported release schedule appears to have addressed the drought issue. Will we see releases in a timely fashion? That's too early to tell as is the doom and gloom prophecy.
BTW, the French were pussies during WWII.
the french were idiots (especially ww1 with their uniforms and tactics) but not cowards. the germans offered them their own free-state with vichy, because the germans needed the french. is that being coward? the french had nothing to fear from the germans as they had no intentions of wiping them out, this was completely different from the uk en eastern-europe.
A lot of TBA and Japan only RPGs that will need translation for the West. It reminds me very much of the N64's launch.

The Napolean almost conquered the world, and France was once a country that kicked a lot of arse over the centuries. Yet, they are now ridiculed for the pussified resistance to Germany.
When the entire territory of your state is militarily occupied by another state, who has set up an occupational government, and your former government has fled to another state to declare a government-in-exile, you've been conquered.
I'm a geography teacher so rest assured I know my stuff.
the west-midlands is an important region in the uk, it's like the equivalent of me not knowing that texas is a state in the us. I don't see your point in wanting me to name all existing places in the us, when many municipalities are completely unimportant, which can't be said from west-midlands in the uk, which is home to uk's 2nd largest city Birmingham
Germany took the Low Countries as a tactical end-run around the Maginot Line, and to provide a buffer from the UK, same reason Denmark and Norway were occupied.
West Midlands is the equivalent of a US county, Texas is the equivalent of Scotland or Wales (Texas is as big as France).
Maybe something like knowing what and where the Piedmont is would be equivalent. But I wouldn't expect someone not from the region to know, especially not a foreigner.
Provided Arms, Splatoon 2 and MK 8 Deluxe gets released on schedule that will make a fairly solid schedule of releases. Mario releasing for Christmas '17 (if it remains true) will have capped a good year of releases.
Rather than Napolean the French were saddled with de gualle during WWII. Dien Bien Phu also comes to mind during the first indoChina war. Any ridicule they receive is warranted.
I guess this is a bad time to mention I failed high school geography once.
QuickSciFi, what country doesn't teach lies?
Sull56, how about a link to that review. Especially since sometimes some of us are on tablets or phones. That and people are more likely to check things out if it's linked.
Well I have bigger priorities then looking up what you want me to see and discuss. So asshats to you too.
Here's my thoughts. Enjoying Zelda on my Wii u on what seems to be more dependable hardware right now. Very large library of quality titles to enjoy for now. Won't get a Switch until the next major wave of systems has all the kinks ironed out and by then it should have way more games I'd want to enjoy.
The End.~
Yes, I'm waiting on fall wave of games/Super Mario GTA at earliest to buy into Switch.
Oh yeah and someone find me a NES Classic Edition at retail. Still can't find the damn thing here in Texas.
Retro AVS + Everdrive N8 solves that problem.
I asked an employee from Gamestop yesterday regarding the NES classic Mini. He said Nintendo won't be restocking those anytime soon before the Switch. He added that Nintendo is really concentrating on the switch right now. I don't know how much of it is true, but it's what I got.
I've heard that the NES Classic was nothing more than a promotional tool to create hype for the Switch. Nintendo was supposedly going to stop production in March.
Nah. It was a way to p.o. certain people.
An enhanced version of a 3 year old Mario Kart game isn't what I'd call a solid release. It's good for those that never owned a Wii U though. It's just not a very compelling list.
They got caught with their pants down when Russia agreed to let Germany march on into Poland. France and GB's reaction was to declare war (some refer to it as the Phoney War), but France offered little resistance, withdrew from Poland and was left exposed once Poland fell. France chose to surrender over having their military and cities decimated.Quote:

Had some time off because I had to do a system rebuild for PS3, because PS3 never stops sucking, not to mention I had to look up how to do a system rebuild again (among other PS3 BS I'll spare you the details of). And I just noticed this video and halfway through it. I think this was the guy Sull was talking about. Anyway, here's a nice juicy video link for you guys;
