It's Alien Soldier's turn to take place entirely in the past, or at least, on planet A-Earth! :D

Wait until you figure out that Street Fighter 2010, Mega Man and most 80's sci fi games 'now take place in the past'.
I'm still waiting for somebody to create the actual Running Man TV program and I'm sure that the 1987 Arnie film said that it was a big hit around about now. It would be the ultimate reality TV show and would piss all over the boring song and talent contest reality shows we get now. Just think of the spectacle! Convicted murderers trying to make it through four huge game zones whilst being hunted by 'roided up WWE stars in ridiculous costumes and armed with signature weapons. The aim of the 'runner' would be of course to survive long enough to win one of the amazing prizes on offer like a trial by jury, suspended sentence or maybe even a full pardon. I just can't believe nobody has the balls to make that games show happen today! I'd watch the hell out of it and would place bets on my favourite hunters and runners as to who would make the first kill! Yeah...maybe I need help.
May as well make Smash TV by that point (on that note, that game has been in the past for quite a long time now... 1999)
Eh, only the first Megaman has 200X as its year, the rest have up to 2099 to lag behind.
Also: wasn't Pulseman supposed to happen this year? Or that was 2014? (I only remember the journalist was born the same year as me, lol =P)
The terminator series kept trying to fix its timeframe. But Demolition Man happened way back in 97.
I love SciFi, but I never did like immediate futures.
^ Yes so true. Why Megaman games have the right idea with year 20XX.
And I too am a very big fan of SciFi.
