I remember when I was young my grandparents had a Sega Genesis, and I would ALWAYS play Aladin on it, so it holds a special place in my gaming heart. So what about the rest of you? What was your favorite Genesis game? Any fond memories you can share?
BTW, I meant FAVORITE in the title, gah.

I loved the music and it got me pumped.The game did as well.
Ahh as a young lad I always found myself playing Comix Zone, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and Mega Bomberman on sega channel. So its a toss up between those but Mega Bomberman was and still is my favorite game.
I remember playing Revenge of Shinobi for the first time. This was after years of playing Nes. Turning it on and watching that awesome title screen. Then starting the first level watching the leaves fly around along with more amazing music. It blew me away at the time. It still love that game
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was the first game I ever played on my own Mega Drive. It still typifies everything awesome and pure on the console and nothing will ever come close to it.
All of my games are "famous".

It's a toss up between "Sonic 2" and "Streets of Rage 2".
Sonic the Hedgehog and NFL 94 . I thought ans still do that NFL 94,especially when you switched to a side view, blew the doors off any Madden game at the time. Sonic was the first Gennie game I played I believe and that "SEE-GAA' let me know I was in for a treat right off the bat.
Beggar Prince seems to have been pretty well-received, so I'd guess it was my most famous Genesis game. ;)

The most awesome experience of my gaming life to date (eventhough I have many favorites) Just remembering the early days when I was a stupid young lad and didn't realise the moving platformers over the chemical sea on chemical plant 2 were for jumping on, I was stuck on it for months, dumbfounded, then came the day when I finally got past that little area realising indeed what those platforms were for, I ran down the corridor shouting "Dad Dad I did it!" - He too was also dumbfounded for those months, I then progressed on to Death Egg Zone (in that same sitting) only to lose about 20 lives on metal sonic and turn off the megadrive in anger as my live stack dwindled to around 11,
I recovered though and completed it a few weeks later and the world changed.
I also recall one time when my cousin (a very close friend of mine too, who lived in the other side of the Country) called down for a surprise visit during the night, I was asleep in bed when they came down, I was awoken at 6 in the morning by them, on a school morning and we went up and played 2 player sonic 2 as if it was christmas morning, now that was another awesome experience, along with the actual day i got my megadrive with sonic 2 and mega games 2, of course all the other games on mega games 2 golden axe, sor, and ros were far too realistic and violent so I spent the first 2 months of my genesis life span (It was actually about 6 I'm embarrassed I know) playing Emerald bloody hill zone on sonic 2! and the first act of chemical Plant!
Thank God for younger sisters and the split screen option or my megadrive would have found an early grave.

I would have to say Fifa 95. If you played it properly it was the best game on the console.

It would have to be the first Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog. Moonwalker is up there too, as is Pirates! Gold

I like much Megadrive but it's not my favorite system,I prefer the computer Commodore Amiga 500.
My favorite games of Megadrive are Dino Dini Soccer, Ristar,Beyond Oasis and Dick Tracy
My favorite games of SegaCD are Heart of the Alien and Flink.
I never thought I would ever find anybody who likes that game. How and why do you like it? I advice therapy - that game is one of the toshest ever released on the Mega Drive. I am deeply concerned for you. :(Quote:

My rpgs were a very privilage group at the start, buck rogers, soleil and Light Crusader
But I've bulked them up with
Shining in the Darkness
Sorcerer's Kingdom
Sword of Vermillion
and Starflight recently
I'll also be purchasing Beggar Prince as soon as it comes out...
Beyond Oasis will be very high on my priority list after that...
Genesis Rpgs are actually so much better than some say, even that might and magic game seems worth a try...

Dino Dini Soccer 2003 version exists that improves the original cartdigen version but only it's possible to be played in Megadrive emulator.This modern version also has made by Dino Dini.The most important newness is than when playing against the console fouls are no so many and it becomes a perfect game.:)
Sensible Soccer is another good game that was original of Commodore Amiga like Dino Dini Soccer, but I do not like so much.
If you want details of why I like Dino Dini Soccer it's necessary to begin by the ball control.The ball doesn't go stuck to the player instead of that the player strikes the ball separating of the player until he returns to strike it,so that it is easy to lose the ball if player moves separated of the ball.It demands coordination to dribble and it's very amused.
Shoot to goal is similar to Sensible Soccer, player can give effect to the ball to turn aside the trajectory,it allows shoot from many different positions and obtain a goal.
Aerial pass are slow just as those of Beckham so it allows easy blows of head or scissor.

Put Landstalker on the list before Beyond Oasis!
Genesis Knight, is surely going to rush to contradict that statement, infact knowing his love of that game I'm nearly sure of it... perhaps ye should both put yere cases for the games forward in order for me to truely know which one to get!
You should get both. Landstalker, however, is nothing like Beyond Oasis. Beyond Oasis is a continuous world with lush visuals, a dynamic combat system, multiple weapons, and loads of secrets.
Landstalker is a one-attack platform hopper with a better storyline. IMO, I can forego the better plot for the awesome combat system and convincing world.
I can do much better than this in my quest to get you to buy the religious experience that is Beyond Oasis, but right now I'm on a laptop with very little time, so that'll have to do.
Well...Landstalker is not nearly as beautyfull as Beyond Oasis, and it doesn´t have such a complex battle-system. But the storyline and atmosphere are just better.And it takes at least twice as long to complete.
Beyond Oasis lives from it´s fighting, but features relatively simplistic dungeons; Landstalker´s fighting is like in Zelda III, pretty simple (but still challenging). But you get really drawn into the deep dungeons. They are a challenge for both your brain and your skills with the controller. The dungeons in Landstalker keep you buisy for a long time, with teleporter-mazes, labyrinths and puzzles with all kind of traps, and you sometimes just wonder how to open the frickin door.
All in all I´d say that Landstalker is much more of a challenge and a real competitor for Zelda. It is the most complex and longest Action-RPG on MD. I think play times of 20 - 30 hours are not unusual
Beyond Oasis is eye-candy, but it focuses a lot on the fighting techniques; it´s a bit like Streets of Rage meets RPG. It isn´t very hard to get through and after about 8 hours you have seen the outro. For me this was where the fun ended; I´m not much of a replayer.
Seeing that both are pretty cheap to get, you should definately pick up both. Because you live in Ireland, let me tell you the PAL-version of Beyond Oasis is called "The Story of Thor" (although it has nothing to do with the nordic god). Landstalker originally came with a small player´s guide, but most of those are lost now. Both games can be bought for about 10,-€.
And remember not to get the cursed German version of Landstalker. Maybe Story of Thor has one too. Watch it, RPGs must be played in English (unless you know German).
Both games are available in Japanese, English, German, French and I think Italian and Portugese.
Comix Zone. It takes an entirely unused gameplay idea, and presents it incredibly well. I just can't not like a game as tongue-in-cheek cheesy as this - plus, along with Streets of Rage, it proves you don't need to recreate an airy-fairy mystical atmospheric string orchestra sound to pump out great music :)
