Taking a short break from Chrono Trigger.
Sounds great :). Btw Txai your youtube channel is pretty tricky to find when doing more general MD or YM2612 searches, I had to explicitly search for "Txai genesis" or "Txai chrono trigger" to find it. Freaking Youtube...
Final Fight 3 on the SNES is the only one I sort of enjoy the music (though it repeats tracks way too much).
Any chance of Law and Disorder? That's my favourite track in the game.
Very thanks Txai!
Glad you both enjoyed!
Thanks for pointing that out. I might change my channel name to something more practical (kinda hard to come up with a name that I like, though).
I did Law and Disorder a looooong time ago. It's just not on YouTube: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Cn...aTNli6vbKSrLsl
Awesome cover! And you've certainly improved.
That was excellent, good job
Hello,
just asking... it would be technically possible to implement this into a Golden Axe hack?

Nice improvement, you gonna do it in entire game ?
A nice improvement for sure! I’m new to sound hacks, but I’d like to play with changing the tempo of a song. Is there a straightforward way of modifying the speed of a track (is something like bpm directly encoded?)
A quick hack that i did of the RRR main theme (Bad to the Bone)
GUITAR: Road Rash 3 Overdrive guitar with less release rate
LEAD: One of the Elemental Master Synth with Feedback 7 and Algorithm 0
BASS: Ryu Theme from the Street Fighter II' Beta

Awesome work! I did a little work on Rock & Roll Racing. Actually, it was pretty much the first thing I posted to this tread. I remember that game being challenging, as the driver kept wanting to overwrite certain values that I set and screwing up volume levels especially.
I only got a few songs fixed up. It would be nice to be able to put out a complete .IPS patch some day.
Much better, well done again Linkui, amazing work!
Thank you ComradeOj, you teach me everything!
Yeah, the game keep changin TL values... not like PoP2 fortunatelly LOL
Thanks Pyron!!!

Can this method be used only to modify the music or can you also modify the sound effects? Like the sounds of the lazer shots in X-Men 2 Clone Wars or the screeching noises in Zombies Ate My Neighbors.
I apologize in advance if it had already been explained.
You should be able to use a method similar to the one I explained on the OP of this thread.
You basically find the YM2612 instrument parameters in the game's files and edit them. This can be hard, but the way I did it was to figure out in what order the game's sound engine stores these values, then figure out what the old instrument values are. I then searched for these old values in the games ROM, where I could patch them with new instrument values.
Some SFX are just samples. In that case, save a new desired sound effect as 8-bit unsigned PCM and patch it in to the ROM where the old sample was. Be careful to make sure the new sound is exactly the same size in bytes as the old one so it doesn't push the data ahead of it out of order. In the case of FM synth SFX, the method is the same as editing music instruments.
Nice start, Linkuei! I'll be watching this with great interest.
much better than the original, if you do it to entire ost this game will be much more enjoyable
Finally finished my most complex Graphics, Colors and MUSIC improvement Hack.
Thanks so much ComradeOj for the excelent tutorial!!!

The old SMS game Safari Hunt had some nice intro screen music, especially if you "fired" the your Light Phaser Gun at the screen while it played.
