But my point in asking to make sure is; that if you basically don't game anymore, then naturally you don't have any more concerns if Sony and Microsoft and gaming in general make any improvements. Me, I still game for PS3, 360 and more. And I'm really into gaming. I game a lot. I'm listening to gaming music right now as I write this. And because I'm also enough of a perfectionist makes much more demanding then the average consumer, means I'm much more concerned about getting better gaming products and seeing gaming evolve. Is that good smoke enough for you?

After the garbage with the PS3, Sony really needed to be brought down a peg. They were so full of themselves and the fans so blind & loyal, that they thought they could get away with anything. And they still have, sadly. Even repeating the exact same mistakes Sega pulled off with the Sega Saturn. And while Sony fanboys loved to hate on the Saturn and it's mistakes (and still do, even on this Sega forum), all of a sudden when Sony does the same thing and it's muti-platform games always falling short for exact same reasons (among many other reasons like online, interface, etc), Sonyfanboys turn a blind eye?

Oh please. Cry me a fucking river. The 360 was an overheating piece of shit. I waited until the Elite came out before buying one. And the dpad on the 360 controller isn't jack shit either. I bought the Street Fighter IV arcade sticks for both consoles, because the dpads are garbage on both consoles.

And speaking of controllers. I broke my 360 controller with a gentle frisbee toss to the floor. I've never seen a controller break with such ease.

I bailed out of gaming shortly after Dreamcast release and didn't get back into it again until just shortly before Skyrim's release. So I missed out on the early faulty 360 releases. But I can't miss out on the early PS3 console release CPU cooling glue issue since the first model of the PS3 is the most valuable one with hardware emulation. So... it's still an issue.

Also X-Box 360 got better with each release. Meanwhile, PS3 got worse with each release... :|

You see that picture of that 360 controller? That D-Pad, the ultimate D-Pad to please everyone, is the response to costumer complaints about the original 360 D-Pad. Why don't Sonyfanboys do the same and complain about the Sony D-Pad in hopes that Sony finally fixes it?

And even so, the original 360 D-Pad is better then the PS3 D-Pad (unless you add one of them PSP D-Pad attachment overlays, then it becomes better then the original 360 D-Pad).

Well don't toss your gamepad on the floor then. I've never ever broken a first party controller outside of typical analog sticks always wearing out.

And 360 fanboy? I'm only a 360 fanboy because that was the result of PS3/360 era battle as I've compared, researched and observed myself. Not like I didn't give PS3 enough chances. My first giant LE box of Skyrim was the PS3 version over 360 because I was wrongfully informed by my Sony biased friend that PS3 was better then X-Box around the time I was just getting into gaming again. Even later in life when I bought the LE version of Dark Souls 2, I thought maybe since this series started on PS3 it would be better on PS3? So I bought the giant LE version of the PS3 version instead. Nope. Wrong again. I always lost when I bet my money on PS3. So X-Box 360 fanboy I am. But blind X-Box 360 fanboy I am not. Don't confuse the two.

I didn't realize they were still supporting it this far along. Nothing against it personally(even used one for a little while), it just came out in a time when I was getting sick of what video games on home consoles had become.

Been there, done that. X-Box 360 with Skyrim, Fallout 3, Dark Souls series, and Mass Effect series brought me back to mainstream modern gaming once more. Mass Effect 3 & Dark Souls even introduced me to online gaming with 3000hrs into ME3mp alone and plenty of DS series online playthroughs. And I'm still playing these online games to this very day. So addicting.


Skyrim on 360 was my first true next gen introduction to 360 era gaming since year 2000 on Dreamcast. Was totally floored by it. And I never seen anything like it before. Perfect re-introduction to console gaming once more. Well, I bought the PS3 version first, but as soon as I got home I played it for a bit, then checked online to see if it was the best version. A heck no from the internet had me back at the store to buy the 360 version as well to play that first.

Got into the Mass Effect series by trying the demo of the second game. Next day I had the entire Trilogy in my hands and I've must of beat all 3 games at least 8x already, with 3000+ hours on the ME3mp alone.

Dark Soul series I finally got into because someone I got along with and respected on the ME3mp BioWare forum liked it so much. Plus that I was looking for another online game. So I totally trusted this guy and bought all the DS series just like that before even trying them. At first I thought I wasted my money, but I persisted until it finally clicked with me. And boy, was he right. These games are crazy awesome online. What an experience.

As much as I hate the 360's Dpad, I would still prefer to use it over the PS3 pad due to placement. Nothing beats a stick, though. I use a Hori RAP to play everything.

The 360 D-Pad is garbage, but in this generation who even gives a shit since the D-Pad is used on like what 1% of games for anything other than quick selection of items?

For 2D games I just use an old controller on my PC.

Yeah, I know this. That's why nobody ever talks D-Pad in gamepad and portable comparisons anymore (not even on a retro forum like this, surprisingly). And even 2D games like Shovel Knight don't support D-Pad these days (therefore not buying). But I still care about quality D-Pads. Even if I didn't still play 2D games, as I'd still like to keep my options open. That, and these Microsoft and now Sony gamepads are also functional as PC gamepads too with Microsoft drivers. So why wouldn't anyone want a gamepad that does it all? I mean, when I bought this one gaming headset, I thought ahead and bought one that worked for 360, PS3 and PC.

Xbox One controller is basically the swiss army knife of gamepads in that regard, probably my favourite PC controller actually.

Although the DS4 is pretty good for both 2D and 3D games also.

^ Haven't played with an X-Bone controller yet. But the analog sticks felt like quite the downgrade. I'm more curious if any brains were involved for that very expensive elite controller. Either way, first I'm getting a PS4 any day now anyway (already got Dark Souls III for PS3. Bloodborne will be next in line). Reasons I went with PS4 over X-Bone first this time around is much higher player base for online gaming (DSIII, Bloodborne, and upcoming Mass Effect game), what seems like much better analog sticks on DS4 (very close to 360), and that Bloodborne is the only exclusive of interest to me. I have no idea how the PS4 interface and online features compare to X-Bone, but my guess is that Microsoft is still well ahead in this area.

I wonder if I should buy a spare while I still can...
