Over a million dislikes on YouTube, glad to see those degenerate MMS games going to hell where they belong. Unlike Zelda, Halo, et al, I have no sympathy for this series. Hope this makes Activision take a hit, and can't wait for FarmVille to die.
I was hoping COD would do a game set in the past, like the Korean War maybe. They're doing futuristic crap it seems though. I was tired of the series anyway, I haven't played it since the first black ops. I'm ready for call of duty to just die out already.
I'm actually excited and cautiously optimistic for the new battlefield game though. I've been waiting FOREVER for WW1 to be represented in a AAA game. Oddly enough, last year I send in an old registration form to E.A. for shits and giggles. Under the suggestions form, I wrote "A WW1 themed shooter". Coincidence? Absolutely!
I never had a problem with this series, though I never played it, I could still leave it alone for those that do enjoy it. Getting upset at it just sounds like typical 'net nerd B.S.
A drop in the bucket compared to the overall number of people who play video games, even exclusively on home consoles, nowadays. The 4th generation had 100 million gamers, and the PS1 alone matched that by itself by the end of the next, and it's only grown exponentially more by some 3 generations later.Quote:

So COD fans are upset that a series that is mocked constantly for being copy and paste, having little effort put into them and being churned out yearly, that is pretty much a reskinned version of the previous year's game, don't like the new COD because it's trying something new? They don't like it because it's not like last year's game, but something different altogether?
Am I missing something here?

I heard about this on Facebook Trending, and one of the guys behind the company refuted it by pointing to other instances where games they produced, including other CoD titles, had many dislikes on YT and still sold fine.

In majority opinion, most corners of the internet don't mean shit.
COD has dislikes, it will sell. Ghostbusters has angry nerds saying it looks shit, people will probably watch it. Trying your hardest to tailor something to an audience that's going to hate your output anyway is never the soundest of business strategies.
It's funny that Activisions statement about gamers was so calm like "they're just very passionate!", didn't go all Paul Feig on them haha
Even if Ghost Busters 2016 does succeed, we'll still have the originals. Nothing can take that away. Also, F-bombs aplenty for the haters of 2(which I never heard of anyone hating on it before the 'net).

2 was the only one I remember seeing when I was young. So that's my Ghostbusting memories & why I like part 2 enough, outside of some cartoon episodes. Not even sure I seen the first one when I was young...
