Sega Master System - bad cart connector help

Hey guys I just got a sega master system on the cheap but the cart slot pins are in bad shape. Cards and built in games work fine but no go on the cart slot. I was wondering if anyone knew if it uses the same exact pinout as the mark III. I was wondering if I ordered this (http://www.tototek.com/store/index.p...products_id=79) if this would work in a US master system? I am handy at desoldering so I have no issue replacing the connector.

I have tried cleaning and bending the pins but they are pretty bad.

The American Master System uses a 50 pin cartridge slot, so the one you linked to won't work. The only thing I could think of to make it work is if you got two of them, and cut 24 pins off of the left of one, and 26 pins off of the right on the other. Or some other combo that made 50 total. You could then line the two halves up to make one 50 pin connector, then solder it in to the console.

That might be messy, but it also might work. Maybe. I would recommend finding a real 50 pin connector if you can find one.

Thanks for the reply I wonder if the top portion of a sms to genesis adapter would work. I know there are people that sell these as do it yourself kits.

I don't know if it has been talked about on the Sega-16 forum before but J-B Weld PlasticWeld putty works very good on pin connectors. In the photos is a Nintendo Game Genie that had the side busted out so I used the putty to fill in the side than painted it black Edit: and that was months ago now has dust on it I didn't see when taking the photos.
