He's asking for short or easy games. Those two qualify on the first front.

Bloodlines is not a difficult game overall, pretty easy for classic Castlevania style I thought.

It's one of the best platformers out there, its biggest downside is precisely that it's too short. Also: hold down jump button to hang on a cliff. You're guaranteed to get stuck at the beginning if you don't learn this =P

When you consider you don't need to play to reach a goal, that would make Pirates! Gold fairly easy.

The puzzles might be another thing, but you can't die in Scooby-Doo Mystery.

It might take a few tries your first time around, but otherwise, Chiki Chiki Boys is both short and easy.

Compared to others of it's type, I'd say Phantasy Star IV is fairly easy(maybe an occasional rough boss), and for the genre, though probably not what you mean, kind of short.

Depending on which teams you choose to play as and against, Mutant League (Football/Hockey) can be a breeze, even when playing by the normal rules of the sport.

When you get the controls and everything, I think Skitchin' opens up and becomes easy enough, and at some 12 races, fairly short too.

Play as Yokozuna, and Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game is a breeze.

The Battle Mania/Trouble Shooter games are fairly easy for shoot 'em ups.

Quackshot is short, easy and really good !

Chakan is very short to be fair, takes about 10 minutes before I lose my patience and turn the console off.

Altered Beast is great because the options menu really lets you make a run at specific levels set to specific difficulties. So, you can play for a single credit run on hardest, which is fast, individual levels at any difficulty/life count/vitality level (to recreate single credit/looping scenarios, or just to play for fun), and straight up looping, which takes longer (about 10 minutes per loop) but can be really challenging, especially if you start on Hardest from the get go.

Altered Beast is absolutely fantastic on the Genesis. I don't understand all the hate it gets.

The hate probably comes from it being extremely dated, and that it became dated even a couple of years after its release. Post-Sonic, Sega magazines started mocking the game because of how basic the graphics and gameplay were. It's a good port, but the original game was rather simple to begin with.
