As someone whom enjoys getting pissed on a semi-regular basis(mostly via whisky or beer), I am curious if there are any other drink fans on this forum. What do you like? And how do you like it? Currently I am moderately enjoying Jim Murray's pick for 2015 Whisky of the year(bit of a miscalculation on his part)Crown Royal norther harvest rye. Not terrible, I must say.

I binge drink sometimes. Or I just drink some odd weekend or event. Or sometimes only drink a beer or two on some patio bar if it's a really nice day. So not an alcoholic yet. When I do drink. It's usually Heineken beer (closet beer taste to one I had in Romanian vacation which was my first beer I really loved, and drank almost every day for 2 months straight), or sometimes I try a new label of vintage red wine.
I don't drink much but did over the independence day weekend/pool party I had a good number of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in fact I'm recovering from a hangover :daze: and sunburned skin right now. There was also a number of other beers and liquors I drank, I have no idea?
Also enjoyed some Kentucky Fire Cured cigars.
I still enjoy the odd tipple, but I don't indulge on the daily like in my twenties.
I did drink a bottle of cheap sparkling white a couple of weekends ago. I'm from south Oz though, even our bad wines are good. Still, it was nice to sip in between hits of angel dust.

On a more serious note alcoholism and drug addiction is indeed a serious issue and can lead to many issues. I myself know as my dad and most of friends were heavy drinkers and addicted to all sorts of drugs. My dad died 20 years ago July 3 1996 when he was 34 years old. While he was mostly sober the last couple years of his life he had very serous stomach issues and couldn't digest food. From what I've heard from my mom the doctor recommended he use marijuana for his stomach issues as it was much cheaper than the prescription medicines available. Most of his friends didn't make it past 45.

I started noticing too much drinking energy drinks and beer around new years affect my stomach too. My brother drinks all the time due to his party job, however, and he's getting stomach pains too. Why I've been looking into the matter myself. So for me it doesn't hurt to slowly look into the matter more and test this stuff on my own.

Alcohol is serious business. I have similar family history to some of the members in this thread. The really scary point is how once you cross the point of no return, it's over. I've never seen someone recover completely, mentally and physically.
BTW Thief, QuickSciFi is a real doctor. He knows all about gut flora.
QuickSciFi I'm very curious. How do you feel about people who vape or whatever it's called. Some of my friends do it, and they label it as some superior addiction alternative, though all of them moved onto cigarettes eventually. Sounds like same old addiction to me. Not to mention that the industry isn't regulated at all, and it was recently found in research that formaldehyde is indeed formed as a degradation product of propelyne glycol when it heats up, a core ingredient in the vape process.
To this day, I don't understand why someone would willfully addict themselves to something that costs money. What the hell.
Many flavored "Vape" solutions contain diacetyl. So good news if you hate hipsters, bad news if that's what your friends are into.
