Alcohol is serious business. I have similar family history to some of the members in this thread. The really scary point is how once you cross the point of no return, it's over. I've never seen someone recover completely, mentally and physically.

QuickSciFi I'm very curious. How do you feel about people who vape or whatever it's called. Some of my friends do it, and they label it as some superior addiction alternative, though all of them moved onto cigarettes eventually. Sounds like same old addiction to me. Not to mention that the industry isn't regulated at all, and it was recently found in research that formaldehyde is indeed formed as a degradation product of propelyne glycol when it heats up, a core ingredient in the vape process.
To this day, I don't understand why someone would willfully addict themselves to something that costs money. What the hell.
