I look forward to being able to check out Panzer Dragoon Saga without having to sell my house
Well I did play it after a massive binge on Saturn's StHA & Shining Force 3 for about a year non-stop. Next stop was PDS, and well... I was personally let down. Especially in the face of the internet claiming it's the best Saturn RPG, which I think that claim goes to StHA & SF3 for yours truly (my fave games ever, by the way). Also never beat PDS. Reached like the final disk or something, and just lost interest. But I don't finish many RPGs I start either... but Saturn is like my fave system, so it's not like I didn't want PDS to be the best thing either. I'm sure I'll return to it one day for another chance, because... Sega Saturn.
I have a Rhea and it was a pain to get but not impossible. You can subscribe to site of the maker. In fact he's suppose to sell some extras this weekend. It works really well and I been very happy with it.
I ended up getting a spare gray Saturn to use with it.
That's incredible! Hopefully he can also find a way to bypass the cheap cartridge slot and somehow implement 1 MB - 4 MB RAM on the card for games that need them. Also support for VCD games like Lunar 1&2. :crossing my fingers:
I want an easy to use low cost option to bypass the copy protection for my Saturn too. But would running a CD-Rs be bad for the disk drive like the Dreamcast?
I for one don't like to mess with the Saturn cartridge slot, as well made and tough the Saturn is the expansion RAM cartridge slot is the weakest link with the slender pins used. So, I would hope a bypass would be good to go for whatever one wants to play without changing anything out and using something like a SD card internally. I hope it would not have much more mass and/or leverage to whatever put in to the cartridge slot than the standard Saturn RAM cartridge and a no go if it has wires running out of it.
Edit: Okay I just got around to looking at the video of the first post and now know the bypass runs through the video CD card port. I don't know much about the VCD port or know if the port even works on my model 2 US Saturn, I have never used or looked at it. Do all Saturns have provisions for the VCD card?
Yeah I just got to looking at the video of the first post I know now should have looked at it before posting. So this is going to be for ROM dumps, home-brews and development of such. All working off flash memory as in a SD card or USB thumb drive.
