I love everything about this game. The remixed old levels are great. The new levels are spectacular.
This is a rare moment where I can't be objective about a game, because I love it too much. Get back to me in a few years maybe.

So stoked to go home and giving it a whirl. Right now I'm nearly done with Gears of War 2 on the 360. I am torn, bc I really want to finish that last Gears chapter, but I really really want to play this game.
Sonic Mania is a very long game, longer than Sonic 3 + Knuckles even. My one run through of the game (including a few emerald stages) came to 3.6 hours, and that's across three total sessions. I'd say play Sonic for a bit, and when you get to a point where you want to take a break, go wrap up Gears. If you haven't spoiled yourself, I'd make a point to play through the first two zones since that second final boss feels like a good stopping point.

Have two more zones to get through to finish my first playthrough of Sonic Mania. Didn't get all the Chaos Emeralds, and I don't expect to at this point (Special Stage 4, for some reason, keeps kicking my ass).
Really enjoying this game.
I have a feeling that it's because the DeviantArt furries with their shitty recolored Sonic OCs are the audience Sega's targeting with this game (which is a sad admission of the messed up portion of Sonic's fanbase on Sega's part).Quote:
