I haven't got a clue what they were all going on about either. Something to do with PC gaming I guess.

As much as I hunt achievements, that's a Switch purchase for sure and I'd P.O. that edition so I don't miss out.
I Pre-ordered Octopath Traveler for Switch. I knew it was going to be day one!
Smart move SEGA!
Sonic Mania is being released on all three consoles for maximum exposure. Alongside this announcement, SEGA announced a new series of Sonic Mania-themed animated shorts: The series will contain 5 episodes to be shown on YouTube. The is the same team that created the Sonic Mania opening short, led Tyson Hesse and music composer Tee Lopes.
What is interesting is that series will take place after Sonic Forces, and will cover what happened to classic Sonic after he returned to his world after the events of Sonic Forces.
As a marketing strategy, this may help to drive more sales of not only Sonic Mania but Sonic forces as well. This could set also set the stage for a future announcement of Sonic Mania 2.

Release date: July 17th.
It's speculated due to a recent magazine scan that Angel Island Zone will be added to the game as full stage. Nothing concrete yet.
Damn wish it was August. July is so full!
Seeing as it wasn't mentioned in this thread yet:

Sonic Mania reached 1 million sales \('ω' )/
I've read that the Plus DLC for those who already have Sonic Mania will run $4.99, so I would hope there would be at least an additional zone for that price (assuming that's correct). Ray looks to be a particularly interesting addition, almost like if someone hacked Super Mario World's caped Mario into the game.
It looks like it's just a simple training/tutorial level, not a full stage.

1.We didn't announce any new levels, but yes - you'll get to play a bit of Angel Island!
I love the reversible cover but this summer is really crowded on Switch. I have to choose my purchased carefully.
Sonic Mania Plus now adds in the ability to turn off the multiplayer/time attack announcer judging by footage released a few days ago (here, at 30 min, 19 secs in.) It makes the mod I made when the PC version was released obsolete, but at least we can now officially mute him now, on consoles as well. ;)Ignore me, I'm an idiot.
EDIT: Ok, maybe not then - only the "GOAL!" seems to have been changed. Guess he's still in.
EDIT: OK, I'm legit deaf - even that is still the same. I swear I heard it without the announcer. :S
I can't wait for Plus to be released. Probably gonna grab a physical copy. Waiting sucks.
Totally picking up a physical copy of Sonic Mania Plus even though my PS4 already houses a digital copy of the original game. XD It just belongs on my future shelf, y'know?
