Hey all,
Anyone know if there's a Streets of Rage 3/Bare Knuckle 3 ROM hack that replaces the soundtrack? Or if there's an easy way for someone to do it? I'd honestly just like to replace the soundtrack for the game with songs from the first two games to replace the annoying, uncomfortable soundtrack of the 3rd game so that it's far more playable. Just for my own personal preference. Anyone know of any ROM hack replacements out there, or of an easy way to do it? Thanks. :p

Honestly, it kind of grows on you after a while. If you're that adamant about it though, maybe keep an eye out at Streets of Rage Online, or Romhacking, for some tools.
Realistically though, why aren't you playing either the translation hack for Bare Knuckle III, or speaking of SoRO, Streets of Rage Remake(mostly uses 3's engine, brings Adam back, and has a ton of options while all the stages from all 3 games are present)?

Seriously, I would LOVE a rom hack with musics of the first and second game. I hated, and still hate, the sound track to the third game.
Why does everyone love Yuzo so much? What has he done that's so legendary?
I'm genuinely asking out of curiosity.
Streets of Rage was ok...I guess.
The first two soundtracks and games are freaking works of art in my opinion. Moody, atmospheric, and a sampled blend of the best of early-90s house from Soul II Soul, Black Box, etc. I can't get enough of it. His company also helped to make Sonic the Hedgehog for Master System, ActRaiser II for SNES, Beyond Oasis and the Legend of Oasis, and Shenmue.Quote:

There is something to be said about playing the original game in its entirety though. I would like to experience the full English-translated story of Bare Knuckle III, which gameplay-wise people seem to hold in high regard. I just can't stand the post-modern techno soundtrack that sounds like it echos through the halls of hell to torture the inhabitants there.
Not to mention his works on the Super Shinobi games(Revenge & III), games in Falcoms Dragon Slayer & Ys titles, hell even recently with the 7th Dragon series.
Don't forget Sorcerian! He was very good in that old PC-88 / X-1 title.
^That actually is part of the Dragon Slayer series. It includes a great deal of games, including: obviously Dragon Slayer itself, Legend of Heroes, Xanadu(Scenario II is one of his), Lord Monarch, Drasle Family(Legacy of the Wizard, which is one of his), Sorcerian(as you just brought up), & Romancia(also one of his).
He also seems to have worked on the last couple of Smash Bros. games. Coincidental that they're the 2 that include Sonic?
He stole some cool music and sounded pretty nice on FM. Can't blame him though, some jap composers loved to do that :pQuote:

Easily one of, if not the most complex soundtrack on the machine. I know it's divisive for people, but in all honesty there's only about three tracks in the game I think take it too far (like most people I do hate the disco one, even if it was meant as a parody). Stuff like Cycle 1 and the boss music are intense AF! The bass is incredible.
A soundtrack that's not always accessible, and not always even pleasant, but one that is incredible non the less IMO.
Baloo is obviously not a huge fan though lol.
PS Yuzo handled Slap Fight MD for Tengen as well.
