I believe these PlayStation memory card cases were packaged with the cards but only available in Japan (?) and yes they only fit PS1 memory cards. They do look nice and useful but I think was available for a sort time when Sony was selling the memory cards for a high price at the time of and little after release of the PS1.
Yeah I remember seeing these. They're nice for storing away extra cards that arn't plugged into your system.
I just use a box to store them and the PS2 cards all 12 PS1 and 6 PS2 cards.
I've never seen an equivalent for PS2 cards, but are they really necessary? My original PS1 cards came with those cases (which I still have) but I've never used them, and I'm guessing that very few other people ever did either because I've never seen 2nd hand cards being sold with the cases.
Can't you just store them in the game cases? That's what I do with my PS2 and Gamecube Memory cards.
PS2 memory cards sold by Hori sometimes came with single card cases like that pictured in your link, cleeg.
Hori also produced DVD and CD style jewel cases which hold four cards conveniently. They are often LE commemorative cases, such as for Final Fantasy X2, Initial D, etc. The CD memory card cases were also available with plain Hori branding. There are a couple available on eBay right now. I've gotten them cheap from Yamatoku in the past.
The only one memory card case I own is for the Mad Catz one but I hardly ever use the case.
I also have the matching Mad Catz Daul Force 2 Pro, along with the 6ft. extension cord and cord retainer. Ha-ha
Thanks for all the tips, that Hori one could be a goer. I've never been keen on keeping them in the game cases because I keep those in a crate (currently) due to lack of space.
I saw that pesky Mad Catz version with the missing corner!
It does all seem kind of pointless, but I just love little plastic cases for stuff! It goes back to my Game Gear days I think... Hmmm, I could modify some of those perhaps...
To me, I have always thought of the PS2 card retainer in the cases as just keep them safe when bringing a game and memory to another place to play or multiplayer on a couch. Also, to keep them in the cases would mean remembering witch case has the card I"m looking for, so many games tucked into shelf and other places stacked onto one another. Edit: But would never do a purge and sell them off. 4LIFE!
