Medal of Honor: Frontline
I'd played many a PS1 and Genesis game before this came out, but seeing those soldiers on the boats heading towards certain death? Looked just like Saving Private Ryan!*
*okay it looked nowhere near as good as the movie, but you try telling 13 year old me who just got a PS2 for christmas that?
When I saw this I knew I was going to be taken for a ride.

Ahh yes, that's a good one.
Capcom did some pretty good shit during the 32-bit era, too.
For me, in no particular order:
1. Sega Dreamcast: Shenmue:
2. More recently, Horizon: Zero Dawn (I won't post anything here. It's still too new and I don't want to spoil the awesomeness for anyone just yet).
3. This one goes out to Jackster (Jackal). I know he is very fond of this game. But the intro just blew my mind. One of the most technically-impressive ones for any 16 bit game:
4. The Sega Genesis version of Mortal Kombat II. Those drums culminating in thunder were just too awesome bitd.
5. Phantasy Star II - Sega Genesis. (One of my favorite of all time. Definitely the most nostalgic to me and my all-time favorite RPG. Quite possibly my favorite intro, but the next one I'll mention is too close for me to choose.)
6. Phantasy Star III - Sega Genesis (A tightly-close contender for my favorite of all time; with only Phantasy Star II breaking it even for me. It is definitely my favorite game theme song of all time).
7. Phantasy Star IV - Sega Genesis: This is just bad ass.
8. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - (I could never get that French Prince of Bel Air "Jump On it" song out of my mind whenever I hear it. You be the judge. But still very memorable to me)
9. Didn't get to play this one bitd. But some years later, I found this one to be one of the most rad 16-bit intros in the history of ever: Chuck Rock
10. Sega Genesis: Sword of Vermilion - Definitely right up there with Phantasy Star II and III for me for top contenders of favorite and most memorable intros of all time:
11. Sega Dreamcast: Sonic Adventure
12. ... more to come... :)
